What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built on the property in 1875. The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch.  There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late,  let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping!  We also have a gazebo that can be used for weddings and vow renewals. Perfect Last-Minute Getaway!
Rick and Mary’s place was exactly what we needed! My partner and I decided last minute to get out of town, and with very little notice, they made sure everything was taken care of. They picked a campsite for us that was well-maintained, private, and super comfortable. A couple of thoughtful touches made our stay even better – free firewood and homemade cookies waiting for us when we arrived! Although there was another group camping on the property, it felt quiet and secluded the entire time. In the morning, we explored the grounds with a peaceful walk around the property, which was absolutely lovely. We could easily see coming back with family or friends, and it’s pet-friendly too! Before heading home, we had a great chat with Rick, who gave us excellent recommendations for sites to visit on our way back. We’ll definitely be back—thank you, Rick and Mary, for a fantastic stay!

Mary is great! We booked kind of late and Mary wasnt home when we arrived but when she did get home she baked us fresh chocolate chip cookies! Couldn't ask for a better welcome! The free firewood was a big plus too!

This is a really cool place! Very well kept with a lot of very thoughtful touches such as, free fire wood, hanging swings, picnic tables, outhouses, a disc golf course, and even homemade cookies! There are multiple sites here but they are very spaced out. I was the only one there when I stayed but walked the grounds and there would be plenty of privacy even when it fills up. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again if I am passing through.

10/10 Stay & Location!
What an amazing property to camp at, along with great hosts! During our stay, we arrived a little later than we had planned for, but Mary and Rick were understanding. When we finally arrived, we were greeted by Rick who gave us some freshly baked cookies, then led us back to our site for the evening. Our campsite felt fairly big, but it was so nice to have the space with our dog along for the adventure! The addition of free firewood (and lots of it) went to good use with a fire that roared throughout the evening and into the morning. Since we stayed on Friday the 13th, of course we had to have a scary movie! We initiated Starlink (you have a clear view of the sky at just about every campsite at Marick Acres), setup our AppleTV, and enjoyed a movie cuddled up together. It was quiet the entire time, which was perfect since we were tent camping, too! We had such a great, relaxing evening at Marick Acres, and we’re already talking about coming back soon! Thank you, Mary and Rick, for your hospitality!
