Boat, fish, and camp by the lakefront, all just a train ride from Michigan City.
Between Michigan City and South Bend, and connected to both by the South Shore Line train, Hudson Lake is an idyllic setting for a city escape. Check into the lakeside RV resort, which has a swimming pool, boat ramp, and direct access to the beach, and spend your time boating, fishing, waterskiing, or jet skiing. Just south of Hudson Lake, the wildlife-filled wetlands and forested hiking trails of Potato Creek State Park are popular with families, and there’s a tent and RV campground, a horse campground, and cozy cabin rentals available. Lake Michigan is just a half-hour drive away, where the sand dunes and sandy beaches are among the state’s most picturesque scenery. Climb the dunes at Indiana Dunes State Park and pitch your tent or park your RV right by the beach, or snag a spot at one of the Hipcamps dotted along the lakeshore.
