Tucked down a private track, nestled within trees and a south facing meadow lies a beautiful wild space. Our caravan offers a cosy and comfortable stay for 2 people. Decorated simply and off grid with solar lighting and a woodburner. Wild Spaces is the perfect get away. An environmental ethos is very much Wild Spaces intention for guests to holiday with a light touch approach. Please come intending to share our ethos.Goldfinch sits surrounded by young oak trees in a quiet corner of Panson’s Mill. It’s a place to while away a few days in nature doing not very much, or to explore the woods and hills and come home to pleasantly exhausted by the fresh air. Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and the coast are all nearby, so you can take your pick of spectacular scenery from the craggy moors to the huge beach and caves of Trebarwith Strand. There’s wildlife all around you and a sense of blissful rural peace, topped by a perfect Pooh sticks bridge at the bottom of the lane, for a lazy afternoon of that least extreme of sports.
Goldfinch is completely off grid, but there are USB ports run off a solar panel, gas hobs and a hot shower, so you get the best of digital detoxing, but with enough creature comfort. Owners Ginnette and Keith live a way down the track and they have another lovely space, Prudence, on their land as well, but you’ll rarely see anyone but the resident deer and butterflies and no facilities are shared. The shower and loo are a few steps away from the wagon, the wood burner will keep you warm in the small (4ft x 6ft) double bed and the kitchen, while outdoors, is in its own curved hut so you can always cook and eat under cover. When the weather’s good though, you can spread out on the hillside, lazing in the hammock, napping in the shade of the oaks and getting the firebowl going if you’re up for a bit of wild cooking. With the trees around you and the rural setting, the night skies can be spectacular, so remember to lie back and take a look at the stars.
