This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

The campsite is a large flat area. For a trailer or RV it's a great place to park and the view is towards wide open spaces. With a tent or if you want more pure nature, you can drive out onto the property further towards the small ruin of the old homesteader's cabin or beyond. The property has a long-abandoned gold mine and circular arrastres where miners used mules to break up rocks. Nearby Acton has pick-your-own apples/pears/peaches at Bloom farms. We are at 3000 feet with strong sun during the day and cool mountains air at night. The camping is set away from structures, but if you want to stroll, closer to the ranch buildings, we have friendly small goats you can visit if interested and horses and a donkey to say hello to across the corral fence.

Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more.For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot.We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.

Beautiful and rugged spot in Loma Linda. easy on and off the highway and great town. Nice little neighborhood. Needs a little bit of upkeep and the road is lots of bumps and potholes, but other than that it is as promised.

We loved staying at Anita’s land! It was wonderfully secluded, and I loved being able to let my dog run around off-leash without worrying about bothering anyone. The dome was very comfortable, and the décor was absolutely adorable. I especially appreciated having an electric kettle in the dome so I didn’t have to go outside at night just to boil water for tea.
Although it was cloudy and we couldn’t see the stars, we still enjoyed a beautiful view of the city lights. As a solo traveler, I was a little concerned about safety at first, but my hyper-vigilant dog and the security cameras helped me feel much more at ease. Anita’s directions and instructions were clear and detailed, and I had no trouble finding the place. We’ll definitely be back!

3 nights at The White Lodge
Such a cute, private spot near the city. The canned ham may be small but it is so cozy and full of character. The bed was very comfy, and we appreciated a kettle being provided. We did need to pick up our own mugs, so keep that in mind if you like a warm beverage in the morning. The cooler is convenient, but we wouldn’t advise expecting it to function as a fridge. The space around the camper is very private feeling with trees around it. The hot tub is such a lovely addition and was fun to use.
The whole property is very dreamy. There was plenty of space for eating outdoors. Although the weather for us didn’t permit using the pool, it was so beautiful to look at. The bathroom is just a short walk away, and has awesome decor. We would advise bringing sandals or slides for walking to and from the bathroom and shower. The shower is a fun experience, although it’s important to note it’s quite small (width wise) to enter into the cave area. It’s not feasible for dressing in there, so you will also need to be comfortable walking back in your towel or a robe.
The road to the home is very steep and narrow. Street parking is limited but we didn’t have an issue finding parking every night, even when we came back later.
There are a couple of cats on the property that visited us and were so cute and friendly. We also got to meet Morgan who was very helpful and kind! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The tiny house is a wonderful getaway. Wide open skies, with great views of the desert and mountains. The tiny house is provided with all the amenities needed for a weekend getaway. The pictures are accurate, and the place is cozy. The owner was very responsive via text. The price was appropriate and overall a good value.

This was such a great setup! We do not go camping often, so I wanted to book a spot that was between camping and “glamping”. This was that perfect inbetween! It does get pretty cold at night during the fall/winter, so make sure to pack plenty of extra layers and blankets. The campsite was very well taken care of, and there weren’t even any bugs inside the A frames. He even included a propane tank, which was great since we forgot to bring one! We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for camping near LA

Had a great time staying here with my family! Everything was so clean , there was cell service so that was nice ! Also some things to note there is a cooking area just no fridge so bring ice and a cooler! No water heater so the shower was cold but felt nice!!! There is a working toilet on site so that was amazing! Two A frames one with a king size bed which was very comfortable it can get windy throughout the day and night but honestly wasn’t a big deal. There’s a port to charge things and some night lights

The site is so great to go camping with a group. Some of us actually used our own tents, some who couldn’t handle the cold used the a-frames that are available. It was a nice little getaway from the cities and all the noise. The stars are sooo pretty at night. I brought my dogs and it was great, I didn’t have to worry about them at all, granted they are trained. They were wandering around and the site is far away from at street, that I let them do their own thing. The girls liked it so much, one of them is coming back with her family to enjoy the sight again.

Great location next to Rim of the World scenic drive to Big Bear Lake. Steep drive to get to camp not too far off the highway. We did fine with our 28ft trailer pulled by a passenger van. Appreciated being able to add on produce/honey from the farm. Would stay again!
