We maintain a small orchard of fruit trees, a garden which feeds us year round and a small flower farm on the property. The 3-acre partially-wooded property is great for relaxing after your day, walking dogs, playing yard games, and enjoying the views. This location was once a large herb farm, so you may discover oregano and other familiar herbs now growing wild throughout the area. Despite being secluded, these campsites are just 11 miles from Columbia Falls, where you can stock up on groceries or check out local restaurants and bars. The property is also nearby Glacier Distilling Company along with zip lines and other family attractions. Sites are level grass pads, with electric hookups (50, 30, and 20 amp) and water. There is no septic service, but there are several nearby public dump stations. There is decent cell signal for most carriers, and wifi in the property. There is a gravel road to the sites from the main road. Please note this property is not suitable for large groups or loud parties; we ask that visitors please respect the neighbors and other guests who come to enjoy the peace and serenity of the Montana wilderness. The tent sites are close enough to the highway where you can hear some traffic, but it usually quiets down in the evening. We are 5 minutes from Whitefish/Big Mountain, 15 minutes from Glacier National Airport, about 45 to Glacier National Park, and about 30 minutes to Flathead Lake. Plenty of things to see and do nearby!

Camping near Hungry Horse guide

Overview

Set in northwest Montana amid the majestic subranges of the Rocky Mountains, the surrounding area around Hungry Horse offers camping in dense coniferous forests or next to alpine lakes. North of town, Glacier National Park is full of backcountry camping with minimal facilities except the landscapes. Revel in the mountain views while hiking the Great Glacier Trail or the very steep Hermit Trail. To the south, Flathead National Forest has numerous campgrounds along the west and east sides of Hungry Horse Reservoir. The vast body of water is created by the Hungry Horse Dam and fed by the South Fork of Flathead River. Amenities at on-site campsites vary and may include drinking water, picnic tables, boat launches, dump stations, and restrooms with vault toilets. Cabin rentals with stoves and comfortable beds are available too. Alternatively, private RV parks near Whitefish, Martin City, and Kalispell give campers more comfortable amenities like full hookups, free wifi, on-site laundry facilities, hot showers, and convenient access to shopping and restaurants.
