2Chicks And A Farm

6 camp sites, 1 RV site, 2 Yurts, and a Bohemian tent, located in beautiful and tranquil Southwest Michigan. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. The other four camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. Another is more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then two others are in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. All sites (camping, Yurt and Bohemian) have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

We are close to the SW Michigan Makers’ Trail (Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries). We are located 4 miles from a small beach (Hagar Park/Beach) on Lake Michigan (15 miles from the big beaches at St. Joseph and South Haven). We are 5 miles from the boat ramp on Paw Paw Lake. We are located just 2 miles off I-196 at Exit 7 (Hagar Shore Road). We are also only 20 miles from Sister Lakes. Dogs are allowed. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hello, We have 8 beautiful dry camping sites in southwest lower Michigan. We have water as you approach the main drive to fill your water tanks. Being a dry site you have to bring your own camp restroom equipment. We are close to several incredible beaches, bike trails, kayaking, Jack Nicholas golf course and all of this is a 7 minute drive away! While we have dry camping only, we have picnic tables, fire rings, a fresh filtered drinking water filling station on property. Please be responsible, keeping noise and driving speeds down for other guests. There are many brew pubs and great places to eat that are all in 7 miles away. The average site size is 50' x 24'. The sites are spacious, clean, and private which is what we look for when we are out camping with our RV. No electric, no dump stations, we do Sell firewood, and have a trash bin. At this time, there are no bathrooms on site so you will need to bring your own camp pottys. The sites are more than 1000 feet off of the road so they are very quiet and peaceful. (We are open all year) We have 34 acres, mostly wooded. You can tent camp right in the woods or in an open area (Site1) with surrounding woods, there you could easily pull a large camper into. We have 3 sites so there is plenty of space for privacy. There is a brand new outhouse between site 1 and 2 . About 10 minutes away is the renowned Muskegon River, mostly known for fly fishing and kayaking. Then about 15 minutes away is Baptist Lake, which has a very nice swimming area that goes from shallow to deep slowly, and also a nice picnic area. There is also Brooks Lake close by with a dock and public access. We are offering additional features available for rent. Please see our list for a variety of options!

Three miles from downtown South Haven for shopping, beaches and a wide array of summer fun for you and the whole family. Just 4 miles away is Lake Arvesta. A great summer sports lake with lots of activities. Horseback riding a few miles away. Check in is from 2:00pm to 8:00 pm. Exceptions can be made in advance. If you desire a late check in without preauthorization, choose late check in for extras. In case you don't choose this option a $50 comfort option will be assessment will be included

Sleep to the sound of tree frogs, owls, distant coyotes, and maybe even wake to sounds of chickens in the morning. Walk thru a glitter of fire flies down a trail at night. My black lab Luke will likely visit your site to say hello and is super chill. 2 disc golf Black Hole Pro baskets on site to practice with. Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented. Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away. Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac) Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from. If woods or open shows booked already, please contact me. Additional fee of $20 per extra tent/camper that sleeps an adult. Picnic shelter is also available. Use my website to RSVP entire camp area for an event such as wedding.

2Chicks And A Farm

6 camp sites, 1 RV site, 2 Yurts, and a Bohemian tent, located in beautiful and tranquil Southwest Michigan. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. The other four camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. Another is more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then two others are in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. All sites (camping, Yurt and Bohemian) have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Overview

Nestled between Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan, Holland is a quaint town long known as a vacation destination. Here, you’ll encounter authentic Dutch experiences, including windmill gardens and tulip fields, while being within a short distance from the massive Lake Michigan coastline, which offers a bounty of beach camping, state parks, boating opportunities, and so much more.

Where to go

Holland State Park

This is a well-known state park that delivers on its popularity. One reason to love this park is because it’s very large, so there’s lots of room to find your own space to spread out. This is also a family-friendly park that’s great for kids, with tons of places to rent and camp nearby. Park outside of the park and walk in for free, or buy an annual park pass.

Saugatuck Dunes State Park

At Saugatuck Dunes State Park, you can enjoy 2.5 miles of shoreline complete with coastal dunes. There are four trails you can take to reach Lake Michigan, which offer the chance to explore tall dunes and rare ecosystems. Visitors here also love birdwatching, hiking, swimming, and enjoying nature.

Tunnel Park

Another great way to enjoy the coast of Lake Michigan is to visit Tunnel Park. Here, you can take a tunnel through a large dune to the shore. Additionally, there’s a dune playground that includes picnic amenities, restrooms, and grills.

When to go

Lake Michigan will certainly have ice on it during winter, so the best times to visit are in the summer from June through September.

Holland is a popular spot, so get to the beaches early and book your campgrounds or accommodations in advance.
