Beaches don’t get much more remote than this creekside hideaway.
If you’re looking to truly escape the crowds, Middle Beach might be exactly what you’re looking for. Hidden away in the Adelaide Plains, this small town sits along the shores of Salt Creek, with a beach surrounded by mangrove forests. Park your motorhome or campervan at the creek-side rest area, where you can launch your boat along the water or make the most of the restrooms, picnic areas, and BBQs, or check into a powered site at the caravan park. Along with paddling and boating along the creek, and fishing along the tidal flats, Middle Beach is also an ideal basecamp for bird-watchers exploring the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary National Park. Just north of Middle Beach, the vast stretch of coastline runs along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway (EAAF) and is home to rare species such as the curlew sand piper, ruddy turnstone, red knot, and eastern curlew.
