Over a hundred years ago two young Swedish immigrants working in a textile mill dreamt about owning a farm together. Along came WWI and they were both called to serve. Before they left they made a pact to save their pay and buy the farm when they came back. Unfortunately only one of the brothers returned but with the money they both saved he bought the farm they dreamt about to fulfill his pact with his brother. The woodlot you'll be camping on is part of that farm and still remains in the family. Such a good spot.
Second time back, enjoyed it even more. Great little spit to rough it without being in true back country.

Fantastic remote site! We had a great night at Michael’s site. The space was set pretty far off the road and is not accessible by vehicle unless you have a lifted 4x4. Michael greeted us and showed us to the site which is a bit of a walk in so pack light! I wish we had been able to spend more then one night! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! The vernal pond was full of bullfrogs which gave us a wonderful chorus at night 🙂 This really is a treasure of a spot to get away for a bit!

For myself it was perfect. Secluded enough that you feel far away from everything, however your close to a lot. Very private and peaceful. The host Michael was very pleasant and answered any questions I had. Will definitely visit again.

Great Campsite !
Michael was a great host. The site was private and beautiful. I could not ask for a better camping experience. To get to the site its about a 15 minute hike. Michael was gracious and trailered our gear in. The trail is well maintained and plenty of flat ground to lay a tent. The site is on high ground well above the pond. I did not hear a single vehicle from the road. There were a few ATVs in the area but they stay far from the site and barley can hear them during the short time they past. If you happen to forget something, Walmart and grocery are within a 15 minute drive. There are many trails to hike in the area with beautiful scenery.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It has been a long time on the road for us and the three nights we spent at his camp spot were perfect. Michael was so kind and friendly, we just want to say thank you for a fantastic experience!
