Shavano Circle @ Monarch Retreat
The name didn't disappoint. Great view of Mt. Shavano from the campsite. Directions where easy to follow and road in has some rocks but nothing to be concerned about. Also really appreciate the small things like the signs marked for each site and the small solar lights around the property to mark the road and the campsites boundaries. Our site had lots of space to spread out on compared to other site nearby, although it was a little rocky in areas. Fantastic view of the stars at night and very peaceful location overall.

Great campsite. It felt similar to camping on public land but without the crowds, mess and noise. The best kind of camping!

Lovely spot
Beautiful, private and remote off the grid space. Put away your phone and enjoy the bird watching. We did not get to meet our hosts because we arrived late.

Shavano Circle @ Monarch Retreat
Great spot in a great area. We didn’t see another car up there the whole weekend. The only downside was there were some cactus in and around the site (only affected us because we have young children)...it was a minor issue. The site had amazing views of Mt Shavano and late at Night you could see the Milky Way. We didn’t have a tent but the tent site looked great (level, no rocks, No cactus, and very private). Really responsive hosts as well. Would definitely stay again.

Twin Pines Walk-In Tent Site @ MCR
Super private spot with incredible views of the stars! Mars and Ash are super responsive and thorough over messaging. We took the tip from the listing and explored the O'Haver lake area-- highly recommended, gorgeous, and we had a wonderful hike from there through Aspen forests and relaxed by a beautiful forest pool. While we enjoyed the peace of the private site, it would have been nice to have had the option to briefly meet Mars and Ash. The listing mentions trails that can be accessed from the property, but we had no idea where to even start to access the trails and without cell reception, we were not able to check with AllTrails at the campsite to figure it out. Also we were a bit disappointed to not have access to the picnic table as the listing stated "picnic table available" under Amenities but when we followed up with Mars and Ash we were informed that it is really only available upon advance request. Might be good if the listing explicitly spelled out the "upon request" part similar to the way that it says "propane grill available upon request." All in all, it was a great spot for a weekend getaway in nature!
