Property Description: Hard Rock Camp Site Overview: Scenic and Quiet: This property is nestled in a remote area with almost zero light pollution, providing campers with unobstructed views of the San de Cristo mountain range. Accessibility: A 4-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended for accessing this site. Elevation: The campsite sits at an elevation of 9,300 feet. Access: Road Conditions: Accessed directly off a county-maintained dirt road that is steep with a few switchbacks. Driveway: The driveway on the property is even steeper, requiring careful navigation. Campsite Features: Privacy: Naturally private with huge rock outcroppings offering stunning views. Seclusion: No visible neighbors, ensuring complete privacy. Off-Roading: Suitable for rigs capable of a little off-roading. This site is not equipped with pull-through capabilities or hookups. Recommendations: Site Selection: It is highly recommended to park at the entrance and walk down to select your preferred site location before driving down. Soil Conditions: The soil is decomposed granite, which does not get muddy when wet but can easily dig in if tires lose traction. Avoid spinning tires to prevent digging in. Amenities: Dump Station: A dump station is available for guests' use. Ideal For: Campers seeking a true mountain experience with challenging access and stunning natural beauty. Those looking for a remote and private camping spot away from the conveniences of traditional campsites. Not Suitable For: Campers looking for pull-through campsites with hookups. Those uncomfortable with off-roading or navigating steep dirt roads. Enjoy the unique experience of Hard Rock Camp Site, where the adventurous spirit meets serene mountain beauty. We recommend walking to the site 1st to see if you think your vehicle can make it. It is only a short walk from a level area if you don't want to drive right up to the private remote site.

Have the host meet you or be shot.
Followed the gps instruction to the address provided. Found landmarks that host used as navigation points ie red cabin w/ motion lights, switchbacks, etc. still unable to find the area in the dark and looking for an area to turn my truck around I was greeted by a man shouting from a few hundred yards away to get the fuck off his land in 2 mins before he started shooting.

Amazing views and very private! We really enjoyed staying. Location was a bit hard to find with limited reception and 4x4 is definitely required. Well worth it though as the property is gorgeous!

Quiet Views
My family and I had a blast tent camping on Paul’s land over 4th of July weekend. With a small kid and a big dog we wanted to get away from the crowds and stay somewhere secluded and quiet. Paul’s spot nailed the objective. There was plenty of space to roam, a really nice fire pit with tools, and great climbing rocks for the kiddo. We ventured into Canon City for an afternoon and found a great coffee shop (The Bean Pedaler) to post up and charge devices and then hit up Centennial Park Playground which has river access, a splash pad and plenty of picnic shade. Highly recommend if you have kids. I could absolutely see us staying at this spot again. Paul is extremely kind and helpful and we loved the views and seclusion.

Incredible mountain views tucked into a well maintained community. The host was communicative and we enjoyed our stay. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as indicated in the description, to reach sites farther down the drive on the property.
