Irish Creek Ranch has just less than 60 acres. The homestead on the property was built and expanded over the years starting in about 1870. The property has been owned by the "Hurley-Schlein" family since 1919. They have been cattle people and have lived in the area since the 1850's. Maxine Hurley Smith was raised on the property and still continues in the cattle tradition with a small herd. There are other crops raised here; olives, peaches, apples, etc. The barn and garage were built in the early 20's by Maxine's uncle and grandfather. The total property was mined over the years during the Gold Rush. The area, known as "The Divide" by locals, is strategically located. Coloma, were gold was discovered, is a short drive aware and the area is famous for rafting. Historical Georgetown is the home of the famous Jeepers Jamboree, an annual event into the Rubicican Trail. The county has over 60 winery tasting rooms, most at no cost. The horse trails are significant and close to the property as well. Also important on hot Summer days- the American River has water access for swimming. But back at the ranch, Irish Creek Ranch, you'll have rolling hills, privacy, unique camp sites, and a relaxing atmosphere. A great weekend or weeklong retreat! Come visit!!

Irish Creek Camp
We enjoyed a lot our stay at Irish creek ranch. Site #12 is perfect because it's away from other sites so it gives more privacy. Wendell was also very nice and helpful.

Cleaning
Great stay. We would definitely come back, Welder is a great host and really exceed our expectations. The only drawback I would like to mention is that we were not able to find a garbage container and we had to take our trash with us back home. It will be nice to have a place to dispose it in the camping site. Other than that, it was an awesome spot. We will definitely be back 😀

Dog, solo female camper, fun time!
I loved my stay at camp site 16! I really feel like I lucked out as some of the other site were much more exposed in the sun and nearer to the road. I felt safe camping solo and even got to hang up my hammock in the trees behind me. The site had water and plenty of space. Wendell was great with recommendations for town. COVID update-- everyone was well distanced and maintained respect when in contact with each other. My dog had a great time.

Relaxing, fun, just what we needed!
We had a wonderful and COVID-safe time at site 10. All the sites were booked during the weekend we stayed, but we felt like everyone was adequately spaced out and privacy wasn't a problem. The weather was hot, but we had a good amount of trees nearby that provided shade throughout the day which helped a lot. The provided amenities were also clean and easy to access/use. There were also two very friendly horses on site that were fun to visit and pet. We'd definitely consider staying here again to explore more of the surrounding areas.

We had a great time with our kids! The trees on site are so pretty, and the nearby attractions were fun.

Placerville Campaing
An interesting campsite. There are a lot of sites and each has a good amount of space. It is odd that each spot came with old office and living room furniture for table and chairs, along with a traditional picnic bench. It is great that they have a little house that sells extra odds and ends. The bathrooms could use improvement as it is just a portapotty that by Saturday night had gotten a little gross. I prefer sites that have trash, so packing out your own trash is a bit of a hassle, but not the end of the world. We were on site #5 and it had a good shade and not too far from the toilet. It also had a lot of space - three tents easily fit. The sites near the main roadway seemed odd as campsites - more like a meadow that you just set up a tent in. Placerville isn't too far to pick up any forgotten items or food too.
