The lake boasts stretches of beautiful blue water for sailing and other water sports, and a playground and swim beach are also onsite. There are dozens of sites at which to kick back here, but you’ll have to use your feet to get the best views of the lake.

Welcome to Grassy Road Cabins and Camping. Here you will find 23 acres of rolling pasture accented by patches of forest and at the center a large recreational fishing pond. Placed perfectly in between two popular Buffalo National River Access Points: South Maumee and Spring Creek. Grassy Road currently offers: two tiny house cabins, 5 tent sites with 20 amp electric, 3 more primitive tent sites, and 10 RV sites that are full water/sewer hookups with 20/30/50 amp service. There is a private two unit bathhouse with hot showers! This campground is designed to operate remotely through partners like Hipcamp without owners or managers always on site. All check-ins and check-outs will be done self service. The owners have kayaks and life jackets that are available to borrow they ask that you message them before and be sure to return them in good condition. There is firewood for sale provided by a neighboring friend. There are several trails that criss-cross the property, and we encourage everyone to explore just be safe and try to give other vacationers their privacy.

Ideal for ATV enthusiasts, the area boasts miles of trails, including both gravel and dirt paths. Revel in the beauty of the dark sky with a stunning view, and take advantage of our location within 45 minutes of Blanchard Springs Caverns, Ozark Folk Center, Sylamore National Forest, and more. As a unique feature, our property hosts a Coffee Roastery where you can indulge in fresh exotic coffee and lattes. An onsite Airbnb, known as the "Coffee Cabin" in Fox, AR, adds to the variety of accommodations. These sites were prepared for the April 2024 eclipse and will continue to improve and mature as the landscape grows into its setting.

It wasn't until I came to the Ozarks that I realized that it was nature that was missing from my life. It's been a long road to normalcy, the land was trashed when I got it and needed to be cleaned. Every structure on the land was build, at least in part, by me. It's rustic to say the least but it's definitely a unique experience.Learn more about this land:This is a quaint off-grid homestead. Living here is a lot like camping. It's located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Ozarks where there are plenty of stars at night and sounds of the birds and frogs always in the air. There is a great little platform in the wooded area of my property where you can set your tent up. You are also welcome to stay a little closer to the 'people area' and partake in daily activities on the farm. We are always doing something fun, sometimes it's using earthen plaster other times it's building with mud. We have an outdoor shower available in the summer. Composting toilet. Wood cookstove. Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE. Ratchford Buffalo Farms is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on roughly 500 acres. Where our Buffalo, Cattle and other animals graze in the meadows and fields and roam the hills and hollows and drink from 11 free flowing springs. My family has lived in these parts for over 150 years ever since my great grandfather settled here from Georgia. This land has been used for may things. From raising cotton, corn, hogs, cattle and at one time my family was one of the largest strawberry producers in the state and always raised a large vegetable garden. I can still remember my daddy plowing this ground with a big black team of mules. For the past 20 years we have raised Buffalo. But the commitment has always been the same. Taking the time to help your neighbor, even if he does not ask. Keeping your word, a man is only as good as his word . Treating people fairly and with respect, if you can not respect others you can not respect yourself. And for each generation to leave the land in better shape than when you started farming it.
