Escatawpa River Campground

Citronelle, Mobile, Alabama
Hosted by Ken H.
This place on the river was once owned by Mr. Mason in 1825. He had a ferry crossing here on the Chickasaw Hwy. then from Hattisburg, Miss. to Mobile, Ala. Prior to that the whole river basin was one campground after another for several tribes of Indians. Campers find many Indian artifacts and petrified wood and animals that have been petrified.
