Awesome site and fabulous host! Would totally visit again - showers would be a bonus but booked knowing there wasn't any so no complaints here!

Site 3 - Sandy Bottoms River Camp
Misleading Campsite Advertised
It was extremely disappointing. The site is falsely advertised as vehicle-accessible, BEACH SITE and secluded with a private beach. In reality, upon arrival, it was wooded, no beach camping and Heidi/John told us that we couldn’t have our vehicles / RTTs by the campsite, despite photos showing jeeps with rooftop tents. Our messages to Heidi, the host, went unanswered.
Sunday morning, Heidi entered our campsite with a group, claiming it was a walking path, even though John had shown us where to set up. Throughout our stay, people constantly walked through our site, disrupting our privacy. Heidi falsely accused us of causing other guests to leave, although we had positive interactions with fellow campers who also felt misled. Heidi's behavior was extremely hostile & unprofessional. She demanded we move our vehicles while we were still packing-up within our reservation time. Her off-leash dog caused distress to our service dog, & when we asked for space to pack, she refused.
Additionally, the campsite is not private or secluded. There were lake-goers accessing the supposed "private beach," leading to confrontations and drunken escapades. Construction equipment (bulldozer) was also operating 5’ from our campsite at 8am, further disturbing our stay.
As a vet, thiswas my worst experience with Hipcamp. The misleading advertisement and Heidi's aggressive behavior completely ruined our weekend. I wouldn’t recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing, private getaway.

Quiet and relaxing place
The owner was very responsive. The cabin was clean and minimalistic, as the pictures depict. The place was quiet and peaceful. I felt very safe as a lone traveler.

Sandy Bottoms RV Campground
This is a super nice place; and the host was so nice. It was muddy in the original spot we booked and so they offered to move us right on the river. John was super helpful if we needed anything. Would 10/10 recommend.
