Site #3 - Bamboo
We had a great time at the bamboo campsite! It was a great peaceful spot for our small family. We enjoyed the platform over the creek surrounded by bamboo and the generous supply of firewood. It was rainy and overcast during our stay but it was a very relaxing time. Lots of different birds in the area as well!
Scott was kind enough to stop by and check in to see if there were any issues. I appreciated that he was willing to accommodate us for a piece of equipment that we forgot to bring.
Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely charming!
The campsites are along the perimeter of a field, right next to a lovely little stream. Each one has its own character, and they are all far enough away from one another that you have privacy. Scott maintains mowed pathways from each campsite to the communal outhouse, which - as another review already commented - truly is the Aristotelian ideal of an outhouse. He also keeps the perimeter of the fenced area mowed as well to make strolls around the property easier.
We stayed at the Bywater site (not Bamboo) due to a last minute change in our plans that pushed out visit back by a week. (Thank you again to Scott for being so gracious and accommodating!) It was shaded and just big enough for our tent and pop-up canopy. Best of all, we were close enough to the water to catch a glimpse of a heron, who paused ever-so-briefly on a rock right next to our campsite.

The platonic ideal of an outhouse
This is our third time staying at campsite #4. It did not dissappoint. This year there's a new fenced dog run around the growing apple orchard, and a brand new outhouse. The dog run is great for big dogs, but our little city dog could slip through the bars of the gate so we kept him on leash. I'm not sure, but I *might* have been the first person to use the new outhouse. It was pristine (for an outhouse). So, if you're a connoisseur of outhouses, don't miss it. Other helpful notes if you're trying to pick a campsite: site 2 has a circle carved out of the bamboo hedge which is ideal for keeping a small (1-2 person) tent shaded and cool, and site #2's cooking area gets gorgeous morning light. Site 4 is the largest and most private, but it takes a while for the morning sun to hit it so you'll stay covered in dew the longest. Just fyi for those trying to pick a camp site.
