The Shawnee National Forest surrounds us, accessible only by wandering roads, passing over creeks and alongside wineries. The trip is worth the beautiful drive, eventually arriving at "The Villa". Our home looks like an Italian villa, appropriately placed between two wineries in the middle of the Shawnee Forest. It is actually a straw-bale home with supplemental solar energy. Originally built as a Holistic Healing Center, we have converted it into a comfortable home with great vibes. We have converted an old grain bin into a "GrainZebo" just outside our home as a fun place to hang out with friends and family. We hope you enjoy the same relaxed feel we get while living out here in the woods, when you come visit. We will be happy to help you feel at home out here. We love sharing the Shawnee experience.

Wine Trail Wilderness - Elec. 30amp
We brought our small teardrop camper here and had such a fun time! Jon is a wonderful host (and human) and gave us tons of recommendations and even helped trouble shoot some issues we were having with our camper. We felt very welcomed and everything was very well maintained from the land to the outhouse to the sites. Thanks for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it!

John is an awesome host, the space is beautiful and there is a vineyard that's a 4 minute walk from your campsite. He keeps the property in tip top order and has taken a lot of care and consideration for his campers. The composting toilet is super clean, doesn't smell and dare I say is absolutely quaint. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to do the wine trail or just get off the beaten path for some relaxation. This is one of the best HipCamps we have been to, book it - you won't regret it!

Lovely, peaceful location! Jon was very kind & helpful! Has one of the fanciest outhouses I’ve ever seen- complete with reading material! Really enjoyed our night there and will return in the future.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Jon's campsite, and despite arriving late due to work commitments, Jon's hospitality made our experience unforgettable. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and answered all our questions with a friendly demeanor. The campsite itself was nothing short of spectacular, offering a breathtaking view of the stars. Jon's kindness and the beauty of the location have guaranteed that we'll be returning for another visit.

Jon was an incredible host! We showed up late at night, with just enough daylight to get parked, but he was happy to take us up to the site and show us everything, anyway! He had a fire built and fresh ice water all day, and showed us the bocci and the composting toilet. That night we watched fireflies and a distant thunderstorm! Definitely recommend for a lovely stay and a peaceful rest!
