Truly a special place along the Oregon Coast. Situated in a very private dry camping site on nearly 5 acres that are surrounded by national forest. Enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook just below the site, and the sound of the waves crashing at the nearby beach. A short 1/4 mile drive gets you to beach access and enjoying walking on some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. Convenient access to Hwy 101 makes this a great spot to explore from. So many great activities year round on the Oregon coast, including hiking, mushroom hunting, whale watching, Off roading, and amazing restaurants and shops.

Riverside/Riverwood

Spring is finally here but, it is still very wet all along the coast. We mow the grass when we can but, it might look a little shaggy until we get a break in the weather. Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). The Riverside site has a fire pit and a deck for viewing the river. **Clarification for the situation that brought a negative review: There is a deck at this site that used to have wood steps that lead to an old dock. Both the dock and steps have washed away many years ago, we won't be replacing them. We do have the steps roped off so no one tries to go down them and it doesn't look great when you are standing there looking at it but, this shouldn't deter from our experience camping on this lovely river. The Riverwood site is away from the river bank about 100' and sits under beautiful, large spruce trees. It is a short walk from both sites to our ramp and dock to be on the river. There are signs on site to help you find your way. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests, Yay! It is about 150' walk from both campsites. It has a kitchenette with a barista bar, microwave, small fridge, a small living area, private toilet and shower.(bring your own towels, soap etc.) All areas are cleaned and sterilized after each guest. It is a shared space with other campers so if you use the space to eat breakfast, drink your coffee or get out of the rain we ask you put everything back where it was. We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. PLEASE NOTE.....We didn't realize how popular our Bunkie would be so to avoid double booking and disappointing our guests, we will keep you posted on the availability. The Glass House IS currently AVAILABLE these dates: AVAILABLE: September 4th on into fall... The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. Bring your Kayak or SUP to explore the slow moving river (or rent ours!). Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds, Beavers early in the morning and evenings. Our resident River Otters have been very active the past couple of years. You'll see them in the morning and evenings swimming, playing and munching on Crawdads. There are Deer although we seldom see them on our property but, they are across the river. There is a huge heard of Elk down river. Our property is about a 10 minute drive to the Ocean/Hwy 101, just south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process and the property: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message with the physical address to the property and the instructions on how to navigate the property once you are here. There is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the 2 camp sites. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. A little about the property and us: We purchased this property 10 years ago. Our Hipcamp sites sit on bare property adjacent to our house. The property and house had sat vacant for 3 years prior to us finding it. It was a mess, all overgrown with blackberries, moss, etc. We spent the first 3 years cleaning up the house, apartment downstairs and clearing the property so it was usable. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river...somewhere...when we came across this property. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Early summer dawn bird song is just amazing! 🎶 It’s lush and green and feels like the earth is hugging you when you’re camping in the carefully carved in marsh-field nooks. There are various camp “sites” to choose from, in the big field or the smaller meadow, with shade and/or sunshine & you choose which spot you’d like to stay in once you arrive. Feel free to check out all of the Barn and other communal spaces like: the beautiful dome for chillin in, stargazing bed in the tall field grass, the “Wookie Nook”- secret relaxing nurselog tree in the far right of the field, lounge chairs under the Cedar in the meadow, forest walk, the Legacy Lounge-art, antique and family memorabilia room-through the mural painted door…make yourself at home 💝 It is generally quiet and peaceful out here and a super sweet rustic getaway. Weekends of course are more lively, but still plenty room to spread out and have your own peaceful space. You can have solitude out at your camp, or come to the communal barn areas for a more social time. Inside the Barn has a more “hostel” feel with couches and lounge areas, dining room area tables and chairs, dance floor with Labyrinth to walk, stage, hula hoops, fun props, art and antiques to enjoy! The Black light art and ping pong room is not to miss!! There’s a Full kitchen (minus an oven) in the corner of the barn with all you need to cook, serve and eat. (Charcoal)Bbq shed outside the barn next to the communal fire pit. Just past those is the cedar shingled shower house with a wood fired sauna too. (I generally have firewood for sale here.) There’s 4 Porta potties on-site, but also, please feel free to pee outside. 😁 On the way to the HeArt Barn, just off of hwy 101 is Ona Beach state park. There you can kayak, canoe, paddleboard -or some even swim- on the east side of the hwy. The beach and beautiful state park is on the west side with Beaver creek flowing through it and a lovely bridge over it. We are just 5 minute drive form there. There are a couple hikes along the way, and also for jogging or biking.. I believe in living as simply and peacefully as possible, in harmony with all neighbors of all species; -plants, animals and humans- in order to do my part to sustain healthy life on this planet. I know that I am blessed for having been raised here and since I’ve come home, I live in gratitude for this blessing every day; and am so thankful to be able to share some of it with you. Fernwood Retreat At Bloom Hill Farm

Welcome to Fernwood Retreat at Bloom Hill Farms tucked away in the rolling hills of the coastal mountains. We call it Fernwood because of the beautiful ferns and forest area throughout our 8-acre farm. We currently offer three sites that are private and secluded. We are off the beaten path with no road traffic or light pollution which makes the night sky and stars so vibrant it looks like you could reach out your hand and touch them. Wake up in the morning, make some coffee and stroll the walking paths along the property. Sit on the creek side bench and soak in the sounds of the birds chirping or just listen to the water flow. Take a stroll through Fern Gully and listen to the squirrels chatter. We offer a meditation area, a communal fire pit, lighted paths, farm fresh eggs, seasonal veggies, a pond and even a big swing! We are situated in the beautiful Southern Willamette Valley and close to many award winning wineries like Bluebird Hills Cellars and Broadley Vineyards, breweries like Long Timber Brewing Company, hiking, waterfalls, mountain bike trails and just an hour away from the Pacific Ocean. William J. Finely Wildlife Preserve is just a few miles up the road as is the historic Hull-Oakes Lumber Mill. And my neighbor is Lainey Morse founder of Original Goat Yoga!! We provide a charging station/electricity, port-o-potty, potable well water and each site has two Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. Each stay includes a half dozen farm fresh eggs.

Trip Camp Yachats

Secluded tent and hammock camping on the Oregon Coast! Walk to the beach and sleep in the trees. World-class trails, restaurants, brewery, and more minutes away. Nestled on 20 private acres 1/2 mile from the ocean and just out of the fog line, Trip Camp is quiet, off-grid forest camping, but minutes from town. You can still hear the waves most nights! Plan to meet us before 7pm check in cut off for your guided walk to camp sites! Trip Camp is an easy 15 minute walk to the beach, crossing highway 101. Yachats is 3 miles away. It's possible to walk to Yachats via the beach and 804 trail system. Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south. A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)! In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

Truffle Tryst Farm

Welcome to your campsite nestled in a mostly wooded property, situated between timber lands and the Siuslaw National Forest. We offer a few open field areas suitable for camping, providing support for vehicles when dry, as well as areas nestled between Douglas Fir trees. Our modern double restroom features flush toilets, potable water, a hot shower for your comfort and is ADA compliant. Towels and washcloths are available. Please note that while this is a working farm with minimal resources, we strive to offer an authentic and enjoyable camping experience. Due to winter weather events, particularly an ice storm, our property has debris from downed trees and limbs. While the main field remains as pristine as a forest field can, other areas of the property will have visible debris that you may need to navigate when wandering around.. Explore our small aquaponics system, which has been running for over ten years and which now houses sunfish, koi, and bass. We have a number of seed starts maturing in the aqua house as well. We have occasional visits from elk, deer, bobcats, coyotes, bears, and mountain lions. Our year-round stream hosts salmon spawning annually, and nearby, you'll find a large swimming hole for relaxation. Adjacent to our property, the legacy Glenwood Cemetery adds to the serene atmosphere. Enjoy stunning sunrise or sunset views from Table Mountain just a couple of miles away. Please be aware that our property borders a timber company, so access to certain areas may vary, especially during active logging hours, although currently (5/24) it is very quiet. Ayers Lake, located a bit past the Table Mountain turnoff, is a secluded spot for trout fishing. For outdoor enthusiasts, the new C2C trail (Corvallis to Coast) crosses our road just over two miles above us, offering opportunities for short hikes or bike rides. While we offer lots of peace and quiet, please plan accordingly as we are fairly distant from many of the closest populated areas. Note that a portion of your journey to our property may lack cell coverage, but we provide a reliable satellite connection for your communication needs once you arrive.

Lost Coast Adventure Camp

This magical property is conveniently located 5 miles north of Florence and directly on Hwy 101, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the ocean. This is a large private site that is surrounded by old growth timber and teaming with flora and fauna. Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild.. and encounters with wildlife are common. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** Please be our guests, relax, and enjoy!

Early summer dawn bird song is just amazing! 🎶 It’s lush and green and feels like the earth is hugging you when you’re camping in the carefully carved in marsh-field nooks. There are various camp “sites” to choose from, in the big field or the smaller meadow, with shade and/or sunshine & you choose which spot you’d like to stay in once you arrive. Feel free to check out all of the Barn and other communal spaces like: the beautiful dome for chillin in, stargazing bed in the tall field grass, the “Wookie Nook”- secret relaxing nurselog tree in the far right of the field, lounge chairs under the Cedar in the meadow, forest walk, the Legacy Lounge-art, antique and family memorabilia room-through the mural painted door…make yourself at home 💝 It is generally quiet and peaceful out here and a super sweet rustic getaway. Weekends of course are more lively, but still plenty room to spread out and have your own peaceful space. You can have solitude out at your camp, or come to the communal barn areas for a more social time. Inside the Barn has a more “hostel” feel with couches and lounge areas, dining room area tables and chairs, dance floor with Labyrinth to walk, stage, hula hoops, fun props, art and antiques to enjoy! The Black light art and ping pong room is not to miss!! There’s a Full kitchen (minus an oven) in the corner of the barn with all you need to cook, serve and eat. (Charcoal)Bbq shed outside the barn next to the communal fire pit. Just past those is the cedar shingled shower house with a wood fired sauna too. (I generally have firewood for sale here.) There’s 4 Porta potties on-site, but also, please feel free to pee outside. 😁 On the way to the HeArt Barn, just off of hwy 101 is Ona Beach state park. There you can kayak, canoe, paddleboard -or some even swim- on the east side of the hwy. The beach and beautiful state park is on the west side with Beaver creek flowing through it and a lovely bridge over it. We are just 5 minute drive form there. There are a couple hikes along the way, and also for jogging or biking.. I believe in living as simply and peacefully as possible, in harmony with all neighbors of all species; -plants, animals and humans- in order to do my part to sustain healthy life on this planet. I know that I am blessed for having been raised here and since I’ve come home, I live in gratitude for this blessing every day; and am so thankful to be able to share some of it with you. Riverside/Riverwood

Spring is finally here but, it is still very wet all along the coast. We mow the grass when we can but, it might look a little shaggy until we get a break in the weather. Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). The Riverside site has a fire pit and a deck for viewing the river. **Clarification for the situation that brought a negative review: There is a deck at this site that used to have wood steps that lead to an old dock. Both the dock and steps have washed away many years ago, we won't be replacing them. We do have the steps roped off so no one tries to go down them and it doesn't look great when you are standing there looking at it but, this shouldn't deter from our experience camping on this lovely river. The Riverwood site is away from the river bank about 100' and sits under beautiful, large spruce trees. It is a short walk from both sites to our ramp and dock to be on the river. There are signs on site to help you find your way. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests, Yay! It is about 150' walk from both campsites. It has a kitchenette with a barista bar, microwave, small fridge, a small living area, private toilet and shower.(bring your own towels, soap etc.) All areas are cleaned and sterilized after each guest. It is a shared space with other campers so if you use the space to eat breakfast, drink your coffee or get out of the rain we ask you put everything back where it was. We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. PLEASE NOTE.....We didn't realize how popular our Bunkie would be so to avoid double booking and disappointing our guests, we will keep you posted on the availability. The Glass House IS currently AVAILABLE these dates: AVAILABLE: September 4th on into fall... The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. Bring your Kayak or SUP to explore the slow moving river (or rent ours!). Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds, Beavers early in the morning and evenings. Our resident River Otters have been very active the past couple of years. You'll see them in the morning and evenings swimming, playing and munching on Crawdads. There are Deer although we seldom see them on our property but, they are across the river. There is a huge heard of Elk down river. Our property is about a 10 minute drive to the Ocean/Hwy 101, just south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process and the property: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message with the physical address to the property and the instructions on how to navigate the property once you are here. There is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the 2 camp sites. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. A little about the property and us: We purchased this property 10 years ago. Our Hipcamp sites sit on bare property adjacent to our house. The property and house had sat vacant for 3 years prior to us finding it. It was a mess, all overgrown with blackberries, moss, etc. We spent the first 3 years cleaning up the house, apartment downstairs and clearing the property so it was usable. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river...somewhere...when we came across this property. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Trip Camp Yachats

Secluded tent and hammock camping on the Oregon Coast! Walk to the beach and sleep in the trees. World-class trails, restaurants, brewery, and more minutes away. Nestled on 20 private acres 1/2 mile from the ocean and just out of the fog line, Trip Camp is quiet, off-grid forest camping, but minutes from town. You can still hear the waves most nights! Plan to meet us before 7pm check in cut off for your guided walk to camp sites! Trip Camp is an easy 15 minute walk to the beach, crossing highway 101. Yachats is 3 miles away. It's possible to walk to Yachats via the beach and 804 trail system. Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south. A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)! We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land. We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms. In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

This hidden gem is only 1/3 of a mile off the highway yet all you can hear is the flow of the water from Rock Creek which flows along the 2 acres. There is plenty of spots to toss your tent. Personally, I prefer the bank overlooking the stream. Cool your feet on a hot summer day in Rock Creek (the main attraction). Enjoy the evenings around the fire pit. Complimentary 2 bundles of firewood, BBQ, table, chairs to use are available. Did you know the coolest porta-party in the galaxy awaits your visit? Attractions: Spirit Mountain Casino is only 4 miles away, The Oregon coast is a 25 minute drive as well as plenty of vineyards. Also enjoy 100+ miles of hiking trails. The trail head is only 1 mile from camp. I'm available to answer any questions you have and look forward to your visit. We ask if the ground is wet you keep your car on the gravel driveway and not drive in the grass (causing ruts). Don't be a turd. Respect the Hideaway. If you plan on partying and/or staying up late around the campfire, don't book this. I have neighbors and respect them. Go do your party booking elsewhere, please. Lastly, if you are bringing dogs, you'll most likely get quite a bit of barking from the dogs to the east. I just want to be honest and warn you. Those east dogs don't like other dogs for some reason.

Overview

One of the larger cities on the Oregon Coast, Newport has long been popular with vacationers, owing to its ample selection of dining and lodging options and its multitude of things to do. Popular attractions include the nonprofit Oregon Coast Aquarium, Nye Beach, and two lighthouses: Yaquina Bay and Yaquina Head. Newport also has a good selection of supermarkets and shops, making it an excellent spot for picking up groceries and supplies, and there are plenty of inland and coastal spots to camp within just a few miles of the city center.

Where to go

Along the Yaquina River

Just inland from Newport, the Yaquina River attracts boaters, swimmers, and anglers alike. Nearby riverside hotspots include the 22-acre Cannon Quarry Park in Toledo and Elk City County Park a bit further east in Toledo. Both have boat launches.

Oregon’s Central Coast

Newport’s location in the middle of the Central Coast makes it an ideal base for visiting the region. Popular beach towns include Waldport and Yachats to the South and Depoe Bay and Lincoln City to the north.

The Siuslaw National Forest

Spread out over 630,000 acres, this old-growth forest offers a mix of mountains, beaches, and rivers, with plenty of options for camping and hiking. Don't miss the chance to visit Mary's Peak, the highest point in the Oregon Coastal Range.

When to go

Newport can easily be visited year-round, and many area campgrounds are open in winter. However, the weather in this coastal community is at its best during the months of July and August, and heavy rainfall is the norm for much of the rest of the year. If you’re interested in whale-watching, come during the two annual migration periods: from mid-December through mid-January or from late March through May.
