Camping outside Yosemite
Red Tail Ranch is an absolute gem! We toured Yosemite several days and we were so grateful for a peaceful spot to land each night. It is clean, quiet, close to nature, amazing night sky + a hot shower and a tidy flushing potty. Shady spots are abundant, doggos are welcome, host is top notch. Pick this spot as your base camp and you will not regret it.

Groovin' at Red Tail Ranch HipCamp!
Robb keeps his Yosemite property raw and natural. The site was great and had power and water. The next site over had a sewage dump connection, thereby allowing us a trip home without carrying a lot of extra weight in our Lance trailer.
Red Tail Ranch is very peaceful with a great deal of wildlife to see, daily. The ranch features a kitchen, outdoor showers, really nice (and clean) side by side permanent flush type porta-potties which are well-vented and private...earth daddies and mamas will appreciate all of these amenities which really complement the whole outdoor Yosemite experience.
Robb is also a photographer and author who has a beautiful book showing the absolute wonders of Yosemite. We had a group of three different families and purchased four of his books, and are hoping to have him sign them, next year.
This HipCamp is a wondrous place so give it a whirl...

Excellent host… very detailed instructions… which was very helpful. Full hook-ups as advertised… no issues, everything worked great. Clean toilet, fun outdoor shower, easy access to the RV site. The property is beautiful and quiet. No road noise. Lots of wildlife ( deer, squirrels, lots of birds, turkeys). We would stay again !!!! 👍

Pine Siskin camp
Red Tail Ranch was a very peaceful place to stay. The kitchen, bathrooms and showers were very clean and everything was as described. It was a perfect, quiet place to stay after the busy national park campgrounds. Very highly recommend!

Great base to explore Yosemite!
Great location about 30mins from the Yosemite entrance and close to nearby town for thinks like groceries, gas and bars.
Robb provided clear directions so we were able to find the site and pitch in the dark and when we explored in the daylight next morning found a useful kitchen hut with sink and lights, showers and clean toilets.
The site has some great views out and was fun the explore. We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time!
