Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, a yurt, and one group camping site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

Site 6 - Sunset Bay Meadows
Perfect and peaceful.
2nd time staying here, absolutely peaceful. Well maintained, it looked even better than the 1st time. Plenty of room for my 26 ft travel trailer, easy to get in and out even with my meager backing skills.

Peaceful and Quiet
So glad we found this place. It was WAY more pleasant than the screaming kids, barking dogs, loud drunken people staying up late experience we had previously had at the Sunset Bay state campground down the road. Tim’s place was super peaceful and quiet with just the birds to listen to. The property is a large mown grassy meadow right at the end of the golf course with several little nooks against giant old growth trees so that you can feel private and secluded. Some of the sites are next to a little creek and we fell asleep to the burbling sound of water both nights that we stayed. The only disappointing thing was that there was no hot water set up for the showers. Otherwise we will definitely book this spot again when we come to the south coast.

Spacious site
Spacious. Private. Good for groups. Soft ground for pitching tents.

Sunset Bay Meadows Yurt
We had a short but rejuvenating stay at the Yurt and stayed cozy in the quarters. Tim was very generous in setting up the sauna for us. The land is very sacred and has (what appears to me to be) old growth spruce and so much green everywhere. Super quiet and peaceful and just a minute drive from Sunset Bay and the calming energy of the ocean.

Sunset Bay Meadows Yurt
The yurt was lovely, open and bright. It was located in the most enchanted meadow. We could hear the creek and see the Milky Way through the skylight while laying in bed.

First hip camp
This was our first "hip camp" experience and we loved it. We like privacy, a lot of space for our dogs and a well kept space with beautiful trees. And Tim delivered all of these. And the grass was freshly mowed. There is no cell service, but you can get it 10 minutes away. If you have a wally, it works there.
