Entry point to western Boone County in Northern Kentucky, neighbor to Cincinnati, Indiana and the Ohio River, this 26 acre property marks a geographical change from rolling farmland to steep, forested hillsides. Our end-of-the road, ridgetop property means privacy. Our isolated campsites are surrounded by woods full of turkey, deer, owls, and woodpeckers. Onsite there is wide, easy strolling paths, a growing number of single track hiking trail, open fields, and forest. And if not booked, a historic log home to explore and do some porch sitting. A great place for solo campers, friends and families, whether newbies or experienced. Drive in sites make unloading/loading easy peasey. Onsite firewood for purchase makes the perfect campfire easy as well. Larger groups can also be accommodated including booking the entire site - just message us for details. Services are limited to space, an exceptional outhouse, tables, fire rings, lanterns, welcome kit (paper, fatwood, lighter, candle). Boating, kayaking, biking, hiking, museums or lazing about in a tiny riverfront town are all minutes away, The curvy, scenic roads lead quickly out of the paved civilization of Union, Kentucky to us and onto the Rabbit Hash General Store, the Ohio River, the ferry to Indiana, the historic Dinsmore Homestead and State Nature Preserve, Middle Creek Park, and Big Bone State Park "Home to Modern Vertebrate Paleontology". Site was beautiful! I just love the drive back to the site. Feels like you’re far away from the big city. But easy to get to.

Family camping

This has been our favorite Hipcamp location. There are several different camping areas. All are beautiful. I have recently had to start using a mobility scooter for my MS. There was no problem for the scooter. From going around and in and out of the barn area, to the path to the very fancy outdoor toilet, I was able to maneuver safely. Being able to pay a very reasonable fee for firewood, to some of our group using the badminton, corn hole and trampoline, made this a perfect weekend

My doggo and I enjoyed Teri and Mikes space and it was a stunning to look at! They were so accommodating throughout the process and very quick to respond to all messages. Would for sure recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay at gobblers knob! The site felt very secluded and the property was beautiful. Teri was very informative and made sure we had everything we needed to have the perfect visit. The property was beautiful, well maintained, and had great amenities. We will definitely be back!
