At Red Dragonfly Ranch our goal is to make a HipCamp that our campers can fully enjoy and have the property be the destination of choice when visiting Yosemite or the gold country of the Sierra’s. Red Dragonfly Ranch is conveniently located. We are only 29 miles from Yosemite Big Oak Flat entrance and only minutes away from the beautiful town of Groveland " The Gateway to Yosemite" and all the hidden gems in between. There are chickens and we are working on maintaining the many raised beds, our goal is being able to have our campers feel free to pick fresh herbs, fruits and veggies for their pleasure. There is a seasonal spring fed creek to cool off in and shade is plentiful. Rv's are welcome , but we are boondocking only. Yosemite National Park Reservation Information : A reservation is required to drive through Yosemite National Park for those driving into the park between 5 am and 4 pm as follows: April 13 through June 30: A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays ( May 27 and June 19) . July 1 through August 16 : A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm every day August 17 through October 27: A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays ( September 2 and October 14 ).

Great for families

What a great trip! Loved the site, exceptionally beautiful and peaceful. Great for families and kids. The creek was such a great way for the kids to cool off and just enjoy nature and they loved visiting and feeding the chickens. Lily was an amazing host and we look forward to a future visit back.

The campsite and hosts were both fantastic. I highly recommend this site if you are wanting to camp on beautiful land and be near Yosemite. We stayed 3 nights. The bathrooms are clean and the vibe at the camp is peaceful. We heard lots of frogs at night which was really nice white noise. Lily and her husband were very kind and helpful when we had questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Site # 2

Hosts are super nice. The campsite was very clean, and the toilets are kept stocked with TP. The creek was a very nice little feature. There were also nice little touches like solar string lights, and a mason jar lights for the picnic table. On site #2 we were able to fit 2 large tents and one medium tent with plenty of space for an outside hangout area. Be aware this is truly in nature and there will be bugs, but they weren't much of a nuisance.

can’t recommend enough!

Lily was amazing. She was prompt to answer any questions we had, and made sure to greet us every morning and evening. The site itself is very well kept, clean, and quiet. We had some travel issues and Lily was beyond accommodating. Perfect location in relation to Yosemite if you’re looking for a place with close access to the park. And she has a cute dog!
