RV camping in North Carolina guide

Overview

In North Carolina, campers can take in beautiful views from along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville—which follows the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains—or linger a while at one of the many North Carolina beach RV resorts that line the long stretch of Outer Banks islands on the Pamlico Sound. RVers in search of more forested surrounds will find RV camping options in all four of the state's national forests as well as in the North Carolina section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (which extends into Tennessee). Many of the family campgrounds in NC state parks offer a mix of simple walk-in campsites and RV sites with full hookups. Some offer extra perks such as picnic tables, wifi, bathhouses, and dump stations.
