Mountain Camping at its FINEST!
First, I want to sincerely thank the owners, Troy and Nanette, for being so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We were greeted and “checked in” by Troy who has a hearty sense of humor and such an admiration for the land and knowledge of the area. Blue Ridge Ranch is as fun and adventurous as it is serene and beautiful. The ranch has lots of animals, walking trails, and great views on its 440-acre campus, and it also offers various amenities like golf carts, tours of the ranch, stocked fishing ponds, and a store with farm-branded and farm-fresh goodies called “The Outpost.” We stayed four-days at a tent site at BRR and one of the many things I appreciated about being there was the cleanliness of the grounds. They take EXCEPTIONALLY good care of the land and have a huge respect for the nature within it. I plan on going back to stay in one of the “Glamping” tee-pee sites this summer!

RV Boondocking
Blue ridge paradise
We had a lovely boondocks site in the pasture by 2creeks with beach. Gorgeous farm and mountains surrounding us. Took hike past RV sites and glamping teepees by ponds into the hills by falls and wildflowers. Hosts most friendly and helpful. Offered farm tour. Fresh eggs and other farm products available.

Solo Camp!
Absolutely loved my solo camping trip at a Blue Ridge Ranch. The sites were huge and provided me with exactly the kind of space and solitude I was looking for. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful (and great conversationalists!) They made sure to come and check on me and my dog to make sure we had everything we needed. As a female solo camper I felt very safe and really appreciated how they checked in on me. Their ranch is enormous and beautiful; I was in heaven. The creek running along the campsites was a great place for the pup to splash around and will lull you right to sleep. I’m already planning my next trip and looking forward to bringing my partner with me.
For those interested in a little more camp specific details:
I was at site 11, kind of in the middle of the meadow. There are currently no picnic tables at the Mountain Sites #5 sites, and at first I was a little concerned since I brought items intentionally to cook a couple full meals with, but I ended up creating a makeshift table out of firewood for my stove and had a Thermarest pad to sit on and it actually made the experience more adventurous and rustic. I really enjoyed my ground kitchen! It does get very sunny come midday so make sure you bring shade options; I strung up a tarp from a creek tree to my kayak rack on my car. They also offer ice and firewood at their outpost which is very helpful!
It was a lovely and worthwhile stay!
P.S. Be sure to ask Will about the hike up to Charlie’s Nook 😂

RV Boondocking
Easy and private
Easy check in and check out. Super nice staff. We boondocked beside the river and were the only ones camping that weekend. We loved the privacy and the river…our dogs loved it too! Would be a really awesome spot in the summer months for being right at the river! Thanks for the great spot!
