In a remote valley, along the banks of Craig's Creek, just north of Roanoke VA, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from Craig Creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - no houses or roads in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

Tent camping next to stream
One of the most beautiful and peaceful camping experiences I’ve had. Being next to the water was magical. Well definitely be returning!

Savage Acres: Creekside Woods
Stayed at Creekside and it was awesome! Super close to Dragons Tooth hike and easy drive to Roanoke. My AWD sedan had no issue making the short drive to the campsite. Ned welcomed me when I arrived and made sure I had everything I needed. Lots of flattish spots for your tent set up too.

We had a great time. Everything went well and the property was clean. Very good conversation and Ned was helpful. Perfect secluded car camping site.

Savage Acres: Creekside Woods
We stayed for a long weekend and between the hiking, the campsite, and Ned’s hospitality it was amazing! I would highly recommend the Creekside Woods campsite and will definitely be coming back. We hiked Dragon Tooth and McAfee’s Knob trails - both had spectacular views at the top.

Savage Acres: Maple Knoll
The creek is gorgeous we will definitely come back this summer so we can fish and swim. Nice flat area to park our bus. Easy drive from Bedford. Loved it!!
