Secluded Riverside Campsite
We had a very short trip due to the rain. Stayed just one night. Lots of space and nicely shaded - perfect when it’s hot and sunny! Convenient walk to Wawa and a few restaurants. The train tracks are close and active, so recommend some ear plugs for sleeping. An easy drive from Philly. We’re looking forward to going back when it’s warmer and we can swim in the river.

Great spot to be out on your own. Drive would be tricky if you don’t have 4x4. Plenty of firewood and space. We had a blast. Thanks.

Amazing spot- felt very secluded! You may have the local kayak paddle by. I found the train to be really really cool! I was able to make the journey on the new road with my suv but I wouldn’t try it on anything that’s not on a car frame. Yet! Great job maintaining the site!

Felt very secluded! Great job clipping back and prepping the site! The dogs could be off the leash and loved the water- they even learned to ride on my paddle board this weekend! Easy to put in kayaks or paddle-boards close by! Ended up extending the trip a night solo because it was so relaxing there!

Secluded Riverside Campsite
We tent camped at this site and it was awesome! Secluded and private, this site was tucked away near the river. The site could be accessed easily with an suv or truck. I drove my Tahoe out there with no problems in the dark since we got there late our first night. For a riverside site the mosquitoes weren’t bad, and plenty of shade. Beautiful view. Loads of cute honking geese splashing and flying around. The spot was huge and we had plenty of room to spread out. This site was a perfect retreat for my best friend and I to disappear into the woods for the weekend. We had a blast and look forward to booking this site again! Thank you Shane for having us!

Beautiful
Shane waa attentive and laid out instructions clearly for self check in on arrival. Plenty of wood provided to keep warm. We knew going in of the train but for our particular 4 day stay, the number of passes and time of day was unfortunate. Tough to make up sleep with multiple trains coming through between 1230-130am and 3:30 and 430am. Site itself and view was easily top 3 of any place we've stayed over our 5 years of using Hipcamp. Mosquitos need to be recond with as you would expect being on the water. Breeze off river handled them well for us onsite but spray is needed for any walks. All in all an amazingly beautiful site but not likely to return due to interrupted sleep that caught up to us after 3 nights.
The review can there.
But if interested I can elaborate more on the trains. There are basically 2 types. One we called the Amazon train cause it pulled double decker Amazon truck trailers, JBHunt, swift, and various other outfitters. That train seemed well maintained smooth and quieter (low rumble). Not annissue at all.
The 2nd type of train was the real problem. It pulled quary rocks and chipstone gravel. It was much heavier and longer. Wheels squeeled obnoxiuosly& heavy rumble was very loud and shook the ground. When it passed, it owned the area. Couldnt hear anything else. Couldnt even shout over it to continue a conversation. No way anyone can sleep through those passes. For our stay, there were 4 to 5 passes of those heavy trains a day including overnight.
