Located 1 mile from the Red River Gorge in Pine Ridge KY between Mt. Parkway Exit 40 East and Exit 40 West and 8 miles to Natural Bridge State Park. The Kilns provides an area for rest and relaxation for those wanting to camp. while enjoying the outdoors. The KILNS got its name from large charcoal kilns that was a thriving family business in the late 50's early 60's. Although they are no longer in functioning, they are part of our history. The camping area is nestled on a small family farm with 5 acres designated for PRIMATIVE Tent or Van Camping. The property is surrounded by beautiful woodlands and a lush green field, freshly manicured. It is easy access to Red River Gorge, Local Restaurants, General Stores all while secluded from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come relax and enjoy, we look forward to seeing you! What a wonderful place to stay! Kimberly and Scott are top notch hosts. It rained a lot more than expected and they had canopies that saved me from getting soaked the entire time. The property is gorgeous, there’s so much to do in the surrounding area. They have firewood on site so no need to carry it in your car. I can’t wait to come back with better weather. If your going to visit red river gorge stay at the Kilns

The Kilns
The Kilns was a fantastic place to camp. The people were so nice and welcoming. There was plenty of room between campsites (even though we were the only ones to stay this weekend). There was the cutest lights set up for a stage that would be a fantastic venue for a band. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Red River Gorge.

Kimberly was a wonderful host at a perfect secluded property. This was my first experience on Hipcamp and it was perfect from beginning to end, though I was only there for one night passing through on a road trip. I will definitely stay at Kim’s place again if I’m ever in the area in the future.

The Kilns
Kim and her family were so lovely! She met us on our first day and greeted us with all the materials we needed. Everyone was so friendly and wanted to make sure we knew that if we needed anything at all they’d be there to help, such starting a fire for us. The campgrounds were kept so clean which was really nice. The second night of our stay it was supposed to rain, and Kim brought out a canopy to keep us dry and also gave us the option of moving our tent to the wooden music stage. 10/10 experience - thank you Kim for such a great vacation!

FROGS - bring earplugs
Kim and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. Upon arrival, they gave us a list of recommended food spots and supplied plenty of firewood. The property was beautiful, but the sites were much closer than expected. We chose the site with the most privacy, but that meant we were tucked back against the tree line and the pond. Once dusk hit, the frogs started singing. As another recent review mentioned, it was deafening. We had to get in the car at one point to try and muffle the sound. Without earplugs, it was migraine-inducing. We assume this won't be the case once spring is over, but it's worth mentioning for anyone wanting to visit this time of year.
