Come explore this incredible piece of Cold War History as you will get a tour of the underground Atlas F Missile Base!This is the site of a decommissioned Atlas F Missile Silo which was abandoned by the Air Force in the 60's.   You can book separate from camping a historical tour of the Missile Base property and the underground Launch Control Center with a tunnel that leads to the 176 ft. deep Missile Silo.(This is a construction zone, as the bunker is being renovated into an underground home. Be prepared to sign liability waivers.) Located in the Smoky Hills of Kansas, you will be camping in beautiful fields with great views of a 250 MW windfarm. Hike over a mile of trails on the property and pick out your own camp spot. Join other guests at the top of the Missile Silo for a campfire at night and enjoy stargazing. Just mins away from the local tavern and restaurants in Wilson & a Brewery in the small town of Sylvan Grove. Nearby is Lake Wilson, one of the largest and cleanest lakes in the State, there are water sports and Epic rated mountain biking trails.

Windy, but great host and views.
This was a great spot to spend the night, but we (personally) won’t be here again. The host was exceptionally well versed in his land, was polite, and considerate… we just don’t enjoy the wind. If you don’t mind wind, this is a great spot!

Great tour!
Awesome area to camp if you are self contained. We loved the tour. A must do. Good location as well. Just off the interstate. Matt is a great guy with lots of vision!

Would recommend!
Matthew was a great host and communicator! The tour is a must when you stay there. The spots are flat for large campers but there is also a couple more private spots if you have a small camper.

Great spot with level sites and beautiful views. Almost no light pollution so great star viewing; some background sound pollution from I-70. The tour of the grounds and the silo is definitely worthwhile, as is hearing about the host’s plans for the future. Easy and peaceful stop off I-70

Matt is so knowledgeable about history and the old missile silos. He gives an amazing tour. The location is very quiet and peaceful.
