Hey guys! As avid campers and adventure seekers ourselves, we know how important safe (and cost effective) space for a night or two is. That’s why we decided to offer a corner of our own rural paradise - amongst the mature oaks, blooming magnolias and palms. We have just under 7 acres with plenty of yard to share. It’s pretty basic space without a lot of amenities (yet), but we know you’d love it here. Our pricing reflects our humble start and we invite you to park your RV, pop open your tent and make yourself at home. A few things you can expect… ~Wherever you decide to set up camp, we will provide a picnic table, trash can and fire pit with wood. ~We are super pet friendly so bring your furry family members and we will ensure they’re safe and comfortable as well. ~There is access to water from the main house. ~ Electricity can be provided depending on how close you set up to the house. WiFi as well. ~ We do have a chicken coop so you can expect to hear them throughout the day. ~ We are on a dead end road in a rural residential area. Super quiet! ~ Pit potty in a super cute Outhouse. ~ If you stay during the month of March, you will adore our lightening bugs! ~ Tons of mature trees so bring your hammocks. ~ We are on site and available to you when needed. Forgot bug spray or need a band-aid? We got you! Need a board game, yard game or puzzle? We got those too! ~ Want total privacy? That’s ok too! Watch us grow and come back as our offerings grow too. This is our start, but it’s going to be great! Camp Wild Fern

Trees, shade, a forested respite

Danny greeted us and showed us where to park. It was easy to back in and maneuver our 19 foot trailer into our spot. We backed up to a grove of bamboo, but other huge trees were all around. We enjoyed our own picnic table ( with a jar of ferns 😊) and large fire ring. We had electric, but even though the day was warm, the trees kept us cool. Beautiful chickens came around to visit in the early evening; it all felt quite idyllic.

Camp Wild Fern

Camp Wild Fern is a nice place

My grandson and I tent camped at Ragan’s property. We had a good time. It’s a spacious and peaceful atmosphere. The hosts are very welcoming and informative. If we are in the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. My grandson enjoyed the chickens, cats and wooded areas.

Old Florida Charm

Write review for hicamp stay. We enjoyed our stay at Camp Wild Fern in Mims, FL. It’s a very peaceful slice of “Old Florida” and Ragan and Danny were very nice hosts! Would definitely recommend a stay.

Camp Wild Fern

What a Gem!

What a gem!!! Ragan and Danny’s property was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed on our 7 month journey so far. Surrounded by live oaks, palm trees, ferns, lots of beautiful birds and lightning bugs. Big huge level Site to set up in with a nice fire pit and benches plus a picnic table. Quiet nights with the sounds of owls hooting. Danny was super helpful in giving us tips on places to go etc. He was available when we needed him, but felt like we had a private space as well. They even gave us a half dozen eggs from their hens as a welcome gift. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay! Thanks guys!!

Camp Wild Fern

We had such a great time! It wasn’t totally secluded but it was still extremely quiet and peaceful. I brought my daughter on her first camping trip and she LOVED it. We were gifted some fresh eggs from the chickens and got to meet the family pups :) i really appreciated that if we needed anything, all we had to do was send a quick message. Super welcoming, great energy. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back! 10/10!!
