WindTree is an awesome retreat perched high on top of the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, over looking the entire Monterey Bay and Santa Clara Valley. WindTree is sacred land used by many over the past 30 years for retreat and ceremony. It has also been a working "Wwoof" -ing farm for volunteers from all over the world to come and learn about organic gardening in a fun, beautiful, nurturing community restoring our sense of interrelatedness and encouraging planetary sustainability by our choices and concerns for the wellness of the environment. You can make your experience apart of this community or enjoy a quiet private camp site away from any activities. We are off the grid with solar power and our own well. We have small organic gardens with chickens and goats. You will love it up here under the stars. Note: RV's over 21 feet will have difficulties on our driveway.

Cob Cottage

Cute cob cottage and friendly hosts! Nice views. However, the overall property has a strange feel. Getting to WindTree was very stressful as we were chased down the dirt road by two dogs. I was also bitten by a tick while sleeping.

Cob Cottage

Beautiful hilltop location!

Beautiful hilltop 360 views. Private level campsites with amazing views of ocean from Monterey to Santa Cruz and further north. Benches and swings situated perfectly to watch sunsets. So quiet and peaceful. I stayed in cozy Cob House in a comfy queen bed where I could see the sunrise in the east out the window. Through another window bedside, I watched the moon and stars. And Elena and staff were super friendly, with many stories to share! I received the rest and inspiration I needed for new paintings I plan to make! I will definitely return since this land is just 2 hours from home.

Expansive Views - Awesome camping!

What a lovely camp spot. You can feel the attention put into making this a special experience. I stayed with 4 friends and we hike on a nearby trail the we found on the AllTrails App. Would happily visit here again. Thank you!
