Five minutes from the beach, Elkhorn Ranch is home to goats, sheep, wild chickens followed by their baby chicks, and a couple of cows, dogs, and sheep. In addition to the animals there is a greenhouse and an acre of pumpkins, corn, and beans. A small fruit orchard borders the chicken coop. Anybody who enjoys small farm life and activity will find this place enchanting. Norris and Roberta are incredible hosts and inclusive to any guests that want to participate in farm life. Close to restaurants and the cute harbor town of Moss Landing, 30 minutes from Carmel and Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Ranch can be a place to relax or a gateway to explore Big Sur and all the amazing hidden gems of the Central California Coast.Pros - Lovely community. Great for kids. Lively when wanted, chill when wanted. Magical Oak forest. Open field for playing. Close to everything. Note - There is a large power station at Moss Landing, about five miles away. The high tension wires border the property. Some people think they are ugly. I think they are kind of cool. If you look down the line of sight, they lead to the power station and you can see all the lined radiating from the power station to serve power to the people of Monterey County.Check in and check out are flexible. However we ask that you are checked in by 7 pm as we are a working farm. Due to camping in the oak grove there are no camp fires at the campsites. However there is a fire pit with wood available in the common area to enjoy or cook on.

Camp with Goats!

Norris and Roberta were extremely kind and the property was beautiful. Everyone camping there seemed like they had a wonderful sense of community and my only regret was that I didn't get to spend enough time talking to them. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful and Fun

This place is a blast! My friends and I fed baby goats our first night!! We felt very safe on Norris and Roberta’s property, we will definitely be back :)

Great choice 30 min from Monterey.

Norris and roberta whete super friendly. The views are quite rewarding, and the kids enjoyed feeding the baby goats and playing at the treehouse

Camp with Goats!

Norris and Roberta were very welcoming, communicative, and accommodating, the critters are adorable, and the setting is beautiful! Our 10yo especially had a wonderful time. Be aware that the (working) dogs bark at night and the roosters start up in the morning; just bring your earplugs and enjoy.
