Run by three generations, our ranch has been in our family for more than 70 years. We opened our doors to the public in 2014 to help support feeding our animals, bred and rescued, after the Powerhouse Fire almost burned us out. We’ve survived a county quarantine(2018-2019), the COVID Lockdowns (2021-2022), the Lake Fire (2020), and the Hurricane Kay burn scar debris flow and flood (9/11/22), depending on hard work and strong family and community bonds. In addition to camping and educational tours, we host private and community events, grow & sell produce and eggs, hatch and sell chicks, rescue ratites, and support the local bee population (which gives us RAW honey to sell), and are working to open a private U-pick-by-appointment orchard. We are all animal lovers, and conservationists, and try to do our part to ensure our children inherit a healthy and viable world. This is our home where we live, work, love, and play. We enjoy sharing our space with visitors who we hope learn about ostrich and make some great memories.

I had such a great stay at the farm! I felt very safe as a woman traveling alone and I loved the farm tour. I’ll be back for cherry season!

Ostrich Ranch!
Me and my sister stayed here together for a night! It’s super different and something we would’ve never done! The campsite could’ve had maybe a bit more for shade, there was one big tree for shade. There are a few picnic tables to put your stuff on, it would be nice if they were spread out a little to feel like you have more privacy! The common area could be cleaned up a lot and there’s random pieces of pipes and construction pieces all over. We took the ostrich tour and Lou is a great guide, knows everything about animals and his ostrich’s! We bought their local honey, and they also sell the ostrich eggs!

RV/Camper @ Working Ostrich Ranch
We had a great time at Quail Run. My wife took the tour with Lou. He was very informative and funny. Camping is basic, they supply you with the land to park your RV or a spot to pitch your tent. Restrooms are near camp spots and picnic tables are available. We had the place to ourselves, it was quiet and we had the benefit of a full moon 🌕. If your looking for a place to camp with added attraction of being near 20 or so ostrich, this is the place for you.

amazing stay, super interesting tour of the ranch, such a pretty area, only complaint is lots of bugs at campsite area, flies, wasps, etc that were a little irritating during the day. would recommend a bug zapper type of thing

Beat the heat weekend
My teens had a blast, the lakes are close they caught a bass. Said it's a must repeat spot. Never saw a soul we were alone camping, roasted marshmallows over common fire pit.

Tent Camp @ Working Ostrich Ranch
My wife, daughter and I enjoyed spending a couple nights camping out here. There is a playground area, my daughter made quick use of that. The ostriches are very much present and easy to view. After my daughter and I spent some time observing them, we are both of the conclusion that ostrich”s” not sure on that one, aren’t terribly smart. Anyway, never saw anyone else the whole time so quiet in the evenings. Overall a great time.
