RV camping near Charlotte guide

Overview

North Carolina's largest city may be cosmopolitan, but that doesn't mean it is without nearby RV camping options. With the exception of some no-frills RV parks in the city, most of Charlotte's RV spots are set outside the I-485 beltway to put nature lovers closer to the great outdoors. On the western and southern side of Charlotte, campers can explore the offerings around the Catawba River and Lake Wylie, including a number of outdoor sports at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Northeast of the Queen City, RV, campervan, and big rig campers with a need for speed can set up camp at one of several RV parks near the Charlotte Motor Speedway. And further north still on Lake Norman, North Carolina's largest man-made body of water, roving campers will find several state park campgrounds and RV parks with full hookups, wifi, firepits, and other amenities.
