Established in 1714 between Red River and Sibley Lake, Natchitoches is teeming with old-world charm and campgrounds with water views. Spend a comfy night in cabin rentals with fully-equipped kitchens, queen beds, and modern bathrooms, or head to the local RV park that welcomes tents and motorhomes. Amenities like full hookups, firepits, bathroom blocks, and communal BBQ stations are easy to find here. A short trip over to Kisatchie National Forest brings more campsites for tents, RVs, and equestrians. The Winn Ranger District and Kisatchie Ranger District are only 30 minutes from Natchitoches. Amenities here include flush toilets, drinking water, trash disposals, hitch posts, and corrals. Days can be filled with ATV rides on the Sandstone Multi-Use Trail, where hikers, bikers, and horseback riders can also explore. For more tent and RV-friendly waterfront campgrounds, cross the border into Texas and visit Sabine National Forest, roughly one hour west.
