San Diego Mountain Lodge is a beautiful escape to nature sprawled out over 40 acres of land on Hideout Mountain, a breathtaking spot in Santa Ysabel, CA. With a combination of offerings ranging from glamping in our vintage camper trailers, RV sites with full hookups, and campsites, to a luxury experience in our remodeled cabins each with a fireplace. Gather and share ideas with fellow guests at our community firepit and picnic tables. What makes Hideout Mountain a magical place? The stunning views of Lake Henshaw and the valley and surrounding mountains, stretching as far as the eye can see. We also have a one-of-a-kind restaurant and bar on the property, Josie's Hideout Saloon. We are located just a few minutes drive away from downtown Santa Ysabel and Julian, with easy access off Hwy 76.

The Scenic Sanctuary RV Site #15
Overall, we had a good experience but the site is misleading and the site manager was quite rude. We booked a RV campsite that can accommodate 10 people but we had a party of 6. We had 2 vehicles with roof top tents and 2 small ground tents. The site manager confronted us and said we were taking up 2 camp spots. The campsite we were designated can barely fit 1 ground tent so I’m not sure how can that site fit 10 people. Secondly, he said we were causing problem’s because we called telling him that the bathroom door is locked and if he can unlock it for us to use. He stated that it was never locked before and no one uses it except us. The 2 days we were there I saw other campers using it as well. Lastly, there was no toilet paper and we had to remind his twice to bring some. Luckily we had a roll to use for the night. The owner of this property definitely needs to train his site manager to watch how he speaks to customers. We’ve been to many Hipcamps and all the hosts was great. This is by far the worst camp hosts we’ve experience.

# 9 The Zen Den - Modern Cabin
A very tranquil property. Definitely more of a family environment. The whole process of getting to the property was very easy.

Bad spot
Okay So this campsite is not working worth the price. It is really noisy as it feet from the bar and there is live music on Saturdays. It is also very small and you can see into the shower from your campsite. Could never find the bathroom as they are not marked, and there is no map. There’s not really much to do in the area and I think calling it Nature is a stretch.

Sunshine Retreat- VCT#2 - Pet Free
Perfection!
Name any element: It's perfect! Affordable, memorable, and so accommodating! The hosts helped us in so many ways and made our stay worth it. 10/10 any day. Fire pit was my favorite part! And the RV had everything my kids needed to duck in a get a quick break from the outdoors that was as comfortable and still near us. Loved it!

The Raven Tiny Home - Site #13
Wonderful space to recharge from city life! Raven House is the cutest, well laid out tiny home. We enjoyed s'mores by the firepit and wine looking down toward the lake. The house includes enough cookware, etc, but we enjoyed eating out in Julian. Definitely the sleeping loft would be a challenging space for some, but we managed to avoid bumping our heads. Communication with the host was clear and timely. We appreciated being able to bring our furry friends (with pet fee). We hope to come back!
