Pitch your tent in our picturesque Carolinian forest in the heart of Norfolk county! Choose from 9 tent sites and 2 lodging sites spread across 10 acres of wooded area on our 49 Acre farm. Well-kept trails to explore throughout. We are proud to have made the runner-up list for best Hipcamp in Ontario 2023 The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. ALL sites have 2 car parking, a picnic table, fire pit and covered wood for purchase. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight. 5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower. FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close đŸ’© Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station. We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company. Birders Paradise! The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. With over 400 species of birds observed, Long Point looms large as one of the most exciting places on the continent to observe our rich birdlife. Dew Drop is an easy access site (direct from the forest perimeter road) and also on the south trail loop for pedestrian acess on the other side. It is a typical sized plot with vehicle access and parking. There are several mature trees on the site, but plenty of room around them to camp. We reccomnend you park your car at the back side of the campsite to block possible sound from the next site over (Turkey point) Parking: 4 cars on-site Distance to: closest campsite: 180' Shower: 750' Outhouse:500'

The drawback to this is access is through a longer and windier trail vs other sites (you can still drive your car onto site) and you will be far away from bathroom. We had a touchless check-in and check-out, and the detailed video instructions made the process completely seamless. The site was very spacious for our rooftop tent and 4-person tent, perfectly situated right at the edge of the farm and forest. The trails were wide and well-maintained. Our doodle, Aggie, absolutely ~loved~ doing zoomies through them before bed! The enclosed shower took a little bit of tinkering (we just needed to release the main valve at the very top to get it going). Even with a cloudy night sky that sent us to bed early, we only stayed for one night and found it to be truly a no-fuss, magical experience.

Pine Haven as a solo camper

As an avid camper, this was my first Hipcamp experience, and not only that, it was my first experience as a solo camper. It was excellent. I stayed in Pine Haven, which is on the small side, but perfect for a single camper. Very quiet. Good layout. Flat ground. Brought my own fire wood, but they had tons available. Easy to find. The mosquitoes came out at about 8:00 but died down in 30 mins. Not sure what else to say, it was everything I wanted in a site as a solo camper. It was a great surprise to find out they were 2 minutes away from Ontario Popping Corn (Uncle Bobs Popcorn), so I stopped by their farm store, and interestingly apparently the camp sitr backs on to their popcorn field! Amazing popcorn! Also 15 minutes away from some great birding at Long Point. So great facilities near by!

It was fine. The site was a little weedy and it wasn't totally clear where to park and set up for my site. The sites are right off an old/active (corn) field so lots of cobs around and lots of garlic mustard throughout the woods. Signal was pretty bad throughout town and camp (Fido) - which is not on the owners, but essentially got in and out with the pre-sent doc which was helpful.

This place is a hidden gem! The camp is in the perfect location- super close to hiking, beaches, and restaurants. The hosts were excellent! We opted for the plane ride with Erik. I will say- this is a MUST DO when you are here. He gave a very informative flight lesson and we saw stunning views. My dog had a great time playing. Also, the stargazing is incredible! This camp is situated right by a cell tower so we had no issues getting on the internet. I would 1000% recommend this site. I almost want to gatekeep!

My second time staying at this location. Easy to find and plemty of room to set up camp. It was very quiet, even though there was a large group of other campers staying as well. Sites are a fair distance apart. I'm sure I'll be back again next yr.

Magic Forest lives up to its name! We needed a little getaway from the city and this spot was a perfect place to pitch our tent for the night. The property was easy to find with signage directing your way. Having a copy of the map on my phone helped too. The lots are decently sized and come with a firepit and picnic table. There was firewood on the lot for an extra charge but we brought our own. The property is thoughtfully laid out and is well maintained. There are a couple of cabins on the property as well that looked very cozy. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. We built a little fire in the evening and fell asleep to the sounds of cayotes howling in the distance. We were one of the only campers there so the vibe may be different during busier seasons. Looking forward to visiting again!

Winter stay!
Spring Arbour Bunkie
We came during the winter and stayed in the bunkie for the weekend, and it was so beautiful and the wood stove kept us warm all night! Getting there was very easy, they even made a track for us right to the bunkie since the snow had been bad the days prior. Felt very secluded and was a perfect weekend! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Spring Arbour Bunkie
Location and Accommodation: 4.5/5 The bunkie was great. Very cozy and comfortable. It was fantastic to have access both the forested area, and an open field for watching the sunset/sunrise or stars at night. Highly recommend this location in the fall when the leaves are changing. Close to Backus Woods, where I had a lovely hike as well. Host Communication: 1/5 I was given too much information. Bombarded with four different text walls of instructions, rules etc. all saying almost the same thing but slightly differently (or contradicting one another sometimes). The only personal communication (aside from several pre-written ones) I received from hosts was a message that said "Okay only if you need please ##########." This was in response to my request that we communicate by phone number once I leave my house since I do not have internet on my phone. Honestly, it made me feel like I was bothering them if I had questions while I was there - and I did end up having questions about how to safely operate the air intake on the woodstove but I just decided to keep it to myself. Value: 3.5/5 This place was awesome, but a touch expensive. After paying an extra $22 for firewood (necessary - it was close to 0C at night) and cleaning fees (I did all the cleaning because I was told to leave it better than I found it. There are not even sheets to change) it was 270 for 2 nights. At that rate, I expect to at least be welcomed by the hosts. Overall, would return (after trying other spots)

Spring Arbour Bunkie
Spring Arbour bunkie was a magical experience for my husband and me. Although we were alone in the forest on our mid fall trip, we felt such a sense of peace cozied up in the glow of the wood stove. What a thrill to go up for a scenic ride in Erik’s ultra light two seater plane. We really lucked out finding this hipcamp. The instructions were excellent and the hosts very responsive.

sweet spot, will bring my future fam here. lots of negative ions for forest bathing, good site to view both north or south constellations (bortle 3/4) for astrophotography. open skies let me see 2 meteors in less than 1 hr

practical place to camp. Not a lot of other ppl camping and sites are more spread out than provincial park camping. Firewood is available for a fair extra cost. horseshoe throwing, water to wash (but not drink), and easy hiking trails are included. Convenience store/lcbo nearby.

What a fantastic spot — truly a Magical Forest as the name suggests. On my first night I pulled in, set up camp, spent the evening around the fire, and honestly thought I was the only person in the whole park. The next morning, I wandered for a walk and realized there were other campers around, but that’s how private and peaceful it felt. The woods are absolutely beautiful, opening up to surrounding farmland that makes for some stunning photography. I kept my bird ID app open throughout my stay and was thrilled to record a number of new species. This campground is the perfect way to get off the beaten path and experience something different from the average provincial park. Quiet, scenic, and full of character — I’ll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Angela & Erik's magic forest. It was peaceful and quiet. The views of sunsets and stars were beautiful. Directions were clear and accurate as shown with minimal need for interaction with anyone. And we were within 15kms of many outdoor activities including the beaches.

We had such a wonderful experience at this private campsite! From the moment we arrived, everything was peaceful, clean, and well taken care of. The site felt private and tucked away, giving us the perfect mix of relaxation and nature. The hosts were quick to answer any questions we had, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The grounds were spacious and quiet, with lots of room to set up comfortably. We especially love the sunset view in the evening and how they put a swing on a tree for kids to enjoy! You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into creating a comfortable, safe, and family-friendly space. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway where you can enjoy nature without the crowds, this is the place to be. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a private camping experience.

We had a great time camping on Angela & Erik’s property. Our corgi has never been able to go off leash at a campground before and she had an amazing time zooming around our site and touring the area. The campsites are well maintained, set up well, and my partner loved the fire stick that was provided so much I may have to figure out how to make one 😂 For folks who are used to camping at KOAs or conservation area campgrounds, this may be a bit “back woods” for them. The only things we noticed were that the campsite isn’t necessarily as private as the other reviews make it out to be, especially since it’s preferred that you pee outside (there were a couple of times I think I locked eyes with someone in another site while squatting, LOL) and the composting toilet takes some getting used to as far as the smell (which is to be expected). Quick drive to both Turkey Point and Long Point beaches but quite far from anything larger than a convenience store (about a 25 minute drive to the grocery store in Delhi). Appreciated being able to prepay for wood and have it ready at our site as well. We had a couple of beach days and a couple of camp days and we would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking to disconnect while still being somewhat close to civilization.

Great little spot to stay for a couple nights. It was my 4 year old daughter’s first camping trip and she had a blast. Very calm, well kept and safe environment. Only a few minutes away from long point and a number of little shops and restaurants near by.
