Nestled under the shade bequeathed by a tall canopy of deciduous trees and alongside a gentle flowing brook, lies a forest opening perfect for immersing in nature’s solitude. Our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) from parking where you’ll find a footpath that empties out onto a level forest understory, surrounded by trees ideal for pitching tents and hammocks. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a large table, and your own private outhouse with a composting toilet. Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to our best stargazing hilltop, for playing in the shallow creek running alongside our campsite, as well as shaded forest and ridgetop views. Our pond, equipped with a dock, ladder and seating is a favorite short 7 minute hike for swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing. For longer hikes, any trail will connect you to our larger network of maintained trails over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open (mowed) pasture trails and farm-life views across our 80 acre farm. To make your packing lighter and your stay more comfortable, we offer the following "extra items" at an additional cost: - Firewood bundles (unlimited) - 5 gallons of water (or less) in jugs with handy pour spout - Charged battery pack with plug and USB receptables - Stringed twinkle lights - prehung (we do the hanging before you arrive) * must be ordered with our charged battery pack or bring own power source. All purchased "extras" will be waiting at your campsite when you arrive. Please see the "extras" for more detailed information and pricing.Besides our campsite being a totally private campsite (that’s right; you will have it all to yourself!) visitors will often get a glimpse of our homestead life: we raise sheep and chickens with the help of our working dogs. Our farm is surrounded by 3500 acres of privately owned forest in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and is a short 30 minute drive from Athens to the East and Jackson to the West. We have very little through traffic; it’s not unusual to only see one vehicle a day (our mailman). Overall our area is rural and chocked full of natural wonder: sandstone rock formations, an abundance of wildlife to include rare species such as the Whip-poor-will, and the amazing barred Owl, both of which campers delight in hearing during their stay. My Spot campsite is so scenic, tranquil, and relaxing you may never want to leave camp until it's time to head home. However, if you want to use the campsite as your base, Lake Snowden, which is only a 15 minute drive, offers kayaking, canoeing, swimming and the very popular Paw-Paw Festival in September. The quaint riverfront village of Pomeroy is a 30 minute drive. Hocking Hills State Park is only a 45 minute drive.

My Spot - Private Camping
Best camping experience ever.
Beth and her husband were excellent hosts. Beth was very quick to respond to any inquiries I had about the campsite ahead of time. They also helped me get my motorcycle unstuck from the dirt trail leading to the campsite. This was totally 100% of my fault for attempting that trail which was slightly muddy on street tires and a heavily loaded bike. Normally you would park nearby and they would help you and your gear to the campsite with their ATV, which they also did in my case. As for the campsite itself, it's great. There's a enough of an open flat space to accommodate several tents and/or hammocks. And you are surrounded by hills and trees from every direction. There's a little creek running by the campsite and several hiking trails for you to explore. The hosts value your privacy and only show up when it's time to drop you off or pick you up. purchasing firewood and clean water from the hosts is a great option that saved me the hassle of having to carry these bulky, heavy, but necessary items to the campsite. There is also a composting toilet on the campsite which was very clean, and surprisingly odorless. It even has a privacy curtain. If you want an excellent camping experience where you are truly secluded in nature then look no further.

It was such an amazing experience and Beth was such an amazing host. Not only did she help us carry our supplies back to the camping spot, she allowed my son to play with her dogs and just made his entire weekend. He said we have to come back!

My Spot - Private Camping
I can not say enough good thing about this campsite. The hosts were super amazing and hospitable. They even hauled our gear back to our very secluded, very private campsite. The campsite itself was so serene, you very much were alone in the woods. The sounds of nature were stronger than I ever heard, it was like a symphony. We got the extra water, jackery and lights, all of which I recommend. It really added to the atmosphere and were so convenient. The trails through the property and the pond were a very nice touch. Overall I highly recommend this spot and we definitely plan on returning.

A Perfect Tent Camping “Honeymoon”
We cannot say enough about Beth and Brian, this property, and the tent site! If you’re looking for something off the beaten path that’s not your typical “campground”, then this is perfect! A singular tent site nestled in the hills of a working farm gave us complete privacy for our “camping honeymoon.” Our hosts helped us in and out of the site with their UTV (and the best puppers). We were able to tent camp with just enough creature comforts (table, site lights, compostable outhouse, and fire pit with cooking grate). We even stayed an extra night, it was so perfect! This place is one of a kind, and so are Beth and Brian. We are already planning our next trip!!

Perfect camping spot!
We loved it here! The land is beautiful and it’s totally quiet except for the sounds of wildlife. The camping spot is just a short walk into the woods and is right by a little creek. At night the sky was totally clear and perfect for stargazing. On our second day we walked and saw the sheep, and one of Beth and Brian’s very good dogs walked us back to our camping area down the road😊

March Visit
We were looking for a getaway for spring break- this was just what we wanted! Private and pretty. Hosts were kind and accommodating. We hiked, spent the evening by the fire and stargazed.
