Best in New York: Finalist
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2023.
Our woodland property bordering the Esopus creek is a serene and picturesque oasis nestled in the heart of the Mid Hudson Valley. While surrounded by lush forest, it offers easy access to hiking trails that wind through the natural beauty of the area, dinning and civilization (you'll even hear the train from time to time). But our property is more than just a gateway to outdoor adventures; it's a place of tranquility and natural wonder that deserves our utmost respect. With its close proximity to all the fun things the Hudson Valley has to offer, it's the perfect retreat for those seeking a harmonious blend of outdoor exploration and relaxation in a beautiful, pristine forest setting. DreamLand aka: Mugwort Express, boasts three enchanting campsites to choose from, each offering a unique experience. 1 - The Original Site: This campsite is perfect for adventurers who want quick access to the great outdoors. Wake up, jump in the car and hit the road for the great Catskills trails. It's the flattest site and the closets to parking, with under 1 minute walk to your car. 2 - Swing Side: Surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery, this campsite immerses you in the heart of our beautiful forest. It's the ideal choice for nature enthusiasts seeking a secluded and serene experience. Also with under 1 minute walk to your car. 3 - The RiverView: Nestled on a ridge some 80 feet above the river's edge, this campsite provides a tranquil escape with the soothing sounds of flowing water. It's our most adventurous site to get to with a good 10 to 15 minute "medium-difficulty" trek to get... A beautiful trek, not a leisurely stroll (Hint: pack light) but well worth the effort! No matter which campsite you choose, our property invites you to connect with nature, relax, and make lasting memories in this stunning woodland retreat.

Dreamland vs Nightmare
First of all, there is construction within 50 feet of the site that I was staying at. Not only Friday but all day Saturday as well. I had construction workers walking through the camp totally unacceptable and none of this was communicated when I made A reservation. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I left a day early. I sent a message to the host. They never replied. I can’t see how they were one of the top Hipcamp in New York State.

It’s always a pleasure to stay at Jessica and Greg’s land. Site 1: the original is a comfortable walk from where you park your car, it has a nice clear space to set up your tent and the fire ring is well maintained. The land is pretty and there is a lot of land to explore. I 100% recommended staying here

Great place to a quick weekend primitive camping spot without any other people.

Site 3 River View
I would recommend
Host was very nice and the site is absolutely stunning and private. Cons: a toilet is advertised which was a big factor to choose the place and there wasn’t one installed. Also, it is very very private but you can hear the train constantly. I didn’t mind it and found it charming but my partner didn’t think the same, so that’s why is also added it here.

Site 3 River View
Beautiful River
The campsite was private, the view was gorgeous and I enjoyed the river and regret not bringing my fishing pole. It’s not a difficult hike to the river view campsite, but you definitely need to pack light, there are some uphills and downhills which would be tricky if you’re carrying a lot of stuff. Was not able to find composting toilet.
