Excellent primitive site
The Lookout is an excellent little escape from our busy lives. Nestled on the side of a mountain, with a great view. The host supplied kindling in a dry box, and a porta potty close by. This is primitive camping at its finest with no running water, and just off of the Appalachian Trail. As my family likes it!! Real camping. Only negative was hearing the trucks coming down 309 at night. We will absolutely be returning. Thank you!!

Great Spot
Awesome Camp Site! Very spacious and private with fantastic views of the surrounding valley. Close to the Appalachian Trail (5 Min Walk) and lots of Stores and Sundries nearby also. Bring water for sure, but everything else was very convenient and relaxing. Definitely will come back to the Lookout for sure!

The Lookout Site 1
The hosts were very friendly and treated us when we arrived. They provided paper and kindling to start a fire. The view of the valley below was beautiful, hard to see the setting sun but great sunrise.

Beautiful site!
Highly recommend! The whole camp site was so beautiful! What a view! Definitely pick Site 2 if you have a big group. It was the four of us and three dogs, and it was perfect! Conveniently, we were provided with chairs, a picnic table, and a fire pit with a grate that we used to cook food. For fun, we drove down the road a little and hiked to Bake Oven Knob, an 0.8 mile hike with a great view. It wasn’t too hard, but a bit rocky. We then drove to Jim Thorpe and explored the pretty downtown. Very dog friendly! And there were a lot of wineries (and apparently breweries), where we did tastings. We had such a fun weekend!
