HOWL is a non-profit land trust held in perpetuity for the full diversity of women, regardless of gender assigned at birth, and transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals. We are an intentional community working to create an alternative to systemic oppression and patriarchy. We work collectively to preserve and steward the land, to provide space for community building, service, and skill-sharing, and to collaborate in projects and programming that reflect our shared values of intersectional feminism, compassion, respect, sustainability, and love of the earth. Nawal El Saadawi

We had a fabulous snowy campsite with wonderful views of the total eclipse. Highlights: kind and caring camp host (Meg), easy access but still felt remote and “off the grid”, friendly fellow campers. We will be back and highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a great balance of solitude and connection. Simply lovely in every way.

Wangari Muta Maathai

I went tent camping here for the eclipse. I chose it because no cis men are allowed at HOWL. That made me feel safe to camp by myself for the first time. During this trip, I discovered that I'm capable of doing a LOT more things than I thought I was capable of before, and I'm going to take that knowledge home with me to apply to the rest of my life. There's a composting outhouse in easy walking distance, and just past that there's a building with a breezeway, wifi, a coffeemaker, and firewood for purchase. Outside that building there's an outdoor faucet with sink and a couple of picnic tables. The camping host was very friendly and helpful. The fire ring at the Wangaricampsite is very well maintained. Note that this campsite isn't bumpy, but it's also entirely on a slight incline.

Meadow Site B

Nice area, a lot of land so you have plenty of privacy, but you can head towqrds the house and picnic tables of you want to mingle with others. Lovely host, beautiful location.

I had such a great experience at HOWL! Went for the solar eclipse and everyone was so inclusive and friendly! Beautiful property with an amazing story and a great place for fem folks to connect!

11/10 would recommend! Such a beautiful spot with great company. Meg was great and so helpful. Microwave and wifi also really came in handy. Did have lots of snow despite no snow elsewhere but it was A fun experience!
