Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Lazy River Tubing, Fishing, and so much more! Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river. As of Fall of 2022, one house has been built and it is on a lot adjacent to this one. So while this site is some distance from the house, it is currently within view. Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is: Food - Myrtles Cafe, a Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt. Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest! Dollar General - 4.2 miles back towards Cleveland (because someone forgot their phone charging cable). Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive! Note: Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper.Pitch your tent along the lower Ocoee river and set your hammock up in adjacent pine trees. Enjoy watching the river flow from the top of the boulder or sit at the picnic table to enjoy a cool beverage. Build a fire in the fire ring and enjoy your stay after a day of recreation! All in a nicely shaded area. Just a 10 minute drive from the Middle Ocoee River take out and 5 minute drive to the Parksville Lake boat ramps.  The Ocoee Express gas station is 1/2 mile down the road and has a Subway and an excellent selection of adult beverages.  Grab a bite to eat just down the road at the Gondolier, Ocoee Dam Deli or The Bus if you're hungry. Be sure to check out breakfast at Myrtle's across the street but check hours ahead of time. If time permits, consider driving Hwy 64 into beautiful Ocoee Gorge up to Copperhill (25 miles/35 minutes one way) where there are many shops and several breweries.   Make Sugarloafers your base camp for the Cherokee National Forest!

Great place right on the river. Super quiet and off the beaten path. Brian was very responsive to any questions I had. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anybody who likes their own space, without having to deal with an annoying neighbor camping right next to them!

Riverside Relaxing
Brian has a great spot and has made it really wonderful for riverside camping! Level pea gravel for tent was really appreciated, especially after there had just been a big storm. Gravel drive was in great shape. The picnic table has an umbrella and is right next to a boulder that is good as a counter and also to sit on. The porta potty was very clean. The location is private, not visible from the road (just the porta potty, as it is in the outermost spot of the site). Very convenient to trail heads, rafting, kayaking. It was very relaxing. It is a great place!

We had a great time on the river, site was well kept and Brian was quick to respond and let us check in early. We checked the release schedule and played in the water and did a-little fly fishing! Water gets very deep later in the day. We also stopped in at ocoee coffee joint and the staff was super friendly and we picked up some new hiking gear. Unfortunately mertles across the street was closed while we were there but looks like somewhere we would like to check out since you can walk to it We brought along our dog and our 15 month old who both had a blast. The noise from the road was very loud and we did have to turn on a sound machine for the baby to sleep which stinks. Must be a high traffic area for tractor trailers and motorcycles, a few burnouts late at night made the little one stir but nothing we couldn’t handle. And something completely out of hosts control since the property is very large and a little way off the road. Definitely a spot for after white water rafting!
