50-some years ago, the legendary Grampy David made his way to The Red Rock Rabbit Ranch. There he resides: a good-hearted curmudgeon, a handyman, a grumpy, Ywengling-drinking philosopher, the wittiest mason, carpenter, roofer, etc. you'll ever meet. I'm his grandson, a documentary filmmaker helping to make ends meet here by sharing this glorious space with Hip Campers. 50 acres of serene woods, fields, a pond, and Mine Run Creek. Spring Mount Adventures is nearby. The Perkiomen Creek Trail is only a mile away. Crawfish, sycamore trees, foxes, pileated woodpeckers, and more! Caring for the land: please do not collect your own firewood on the land. That wood is decomposing and contributing to the health of the forest, providing numerous habitats for bugs. Note on dogs: we run a dog-sitting business, so there may be a pack (2-5) of dogs that come through the woods with us on walks. All dogs we sit are friendly towards humans. Food recs: Raw Replenish in downtown Schwenksville has healthy smoothies and salads. Thai Spice is ten minutes away. Trouble's End brewing is 15 minutes away in Collegeville, with delicious beer and a Spicy Chicken sandwich.

Great campsite for families!
The creek access was so lovely, especially with small children. The location was easily accessible from Philly, but quiet and perfect for camping with a small group. It was great to be able to go to Collegeville for dinner, drinks, and supplies on night one. The pictures on the website vs. the actual campsite(s) don't totally line up, so just pay close attention to the direction. We would definitely come back!

Immerse yourself in nature...
If you want to immerse yourself in nature, this is the place for you! It's nestled along a creek at the bottom of a long and winding unpaved driveway, which had its share of potholes and overhanging growth which required some navigation, so be aware if your vehicle is over 6' high. There’s quite a menagerie of rustic buildings, equipment, and cars on the way down the driveway, so we were very glad to meet Grampy at the top so we knew we weren’t trespassing on someone’s property! Grampy was super-sweet and had a twinkle in his eye. Martin was very responsive to messages, but we didn’t meet him during our short stay. We weren’t quite sure where to park because the spring growth was in full flush (not sure if it gets mowed at some point), but we managed to figure it out and (mostly!) not block the trail to the other campsite; the trail appears to be used by locals or other folks going on walks as well, because no one was camped there. (It didn’t really impact our feeling of privacy too much, though.) We loved the lack of bugs (coming from the Adirondacks during blackfly season, haha!) and being enveloped in all things green and growing! The sculpture garden is cool, too. Our cat enjoyed looking out onto the view of the creek from our tent, looking for wildlife (alas, we didn’t see any ourselves, but the birdsong was beautiful). We would definitely stay there again (hoping that the overgrowth at the top of the driveway – a holly and something else) was trimmed back).

Great little site for my girlfriend’s first time camping! Coming from Philly it was a nice place to get away without having to drive super far. Communication was great and firewood was dropped off right by my truck! We will be back

Great spot to enjoy the creek!
Great time tent camping and enjoying a nice campfire. Everything was super chill. I’d recommend manually typing in the address to your maps app to find it, since the address it send you to through HipCamp is not accurate. The camp sites are not labeled, so it was hard to find it but another camper helped me out. Great overall, beautiful, remote, and peaceful. I hope to come again!

We were a little confused about which campsite was ours, but once we got settled it was very pleasant. I think a couple of signs on the trees could be helpful confirming the spots. But otherwise I'd recommend the property.
