Four secluded campsites along Bear Creek in the Poconos, feature spacious safari tents with queen bunk beds, covered dining area, a deck to set up an additional 6 person pop up tent. In addition we have “Check Point Shed” where campers can borrow gear. Drive into your campsite immediately you will hear the sounds of a babbling creek, by giant rhododendrons under magnificent hemlocks and oaks - a truly natural and relaxing experience. Campers can enjoy a short hike to our private waterfall with swimming hole or lay in a hammock by the creek. The sites are surrounded by 400 acres of privately owned natural forest with several miles of marked trails. The campsite is adjoined by Lehigh Gorge State Park and PA state game lands. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended for hiking. Just minutes away there are outdoor adventures galore: white water rafting, kayaking, biking on rail to trails bike paths, skirmish paint ball, Glen Onoko Falls and Hickory Run state parks. The mountaintop entertainment venue Penns Peak and the historic town of Jim Thorpe are just 15 minutes from the campsite. Jim Thorpe has many fine eatery’s, shops, the Lehigh Gorge Railway and Asa Packer mansion

A Creek Runs Through It, Poconos
Beautiful campsite, Amazing host!
First off, Scotts hospitality was warm and welcoming, and made sure our group had anything we needed prior and then some. The campsite is beautiful and spacious, very clean and well managed. With trails for hiking and beautiful streams and waterfalls filled with native trout to awe in beauty, it’s truly an amazing stay!

Retreat on Bear Creek
10/10 - Can't wait to rebook!
We had an incredible stay on Scott's land - the site, and the land was all super tidy and the campsite really did have everything they listed, so next time, we will pack even lighter and rely more on what is provided for an even easier pack-in and pack-out. Their land is incredibly fun to explore and the hiking paths are well-marked and well-maintained. We never heard any other people from the other campsites - the sites are far enough away and completely private thanks to how Scott set everything up (and trees, of course!) It was actually raining all but one day on our trip, but that's just a testament to how nice the campsite was set up. We were able to stay dry when we wanted to under the canopy and still have a great time. Even hiking in the rain was fun with the tree coverage! Thank you, Scott and family!

Bear Creek Falls Getaway
Jim Thorpe Gem!
Camp Dietrich was wonderful! I surprised my wife with a getaway with old friends at the Getaway at Bear Creek site, and we had so much fun. Hiking trails on the property were a bonus that we didn’t know about heading in! The waterfall is dreamy.

Bear Creek Hideaway in the Poconos
My friends and I loved Bear Creek Hideaway at Camp Dietrich. The site had several amenities that made it stellar - including a covered seating area (perfect for any rain) and a propane heater. Scott and his wife were excellent hosts. We can wait for our next visit!

Retreat on Bear Creek
Spring camping trip
We had a wonderful stay at Bear Creek! The scenery along the creek was picturesque and it was fun to follow the winding trails to the waterfall. It’s clear this land and campground has been given lots of TLC. The nights we were here were very chilly and the propane heater in the canvas tent came in handy overnight and for us to hangout in and play games. Our kids had fun with the map of the camp and the names of all of the trails and campsites. Lots of amenities and Scott was warm and welcoming! He even helped up get our gear up and down the hill with the ATV. Can’t wait to come back again!

Bear Creek Hideaway in the Poconos
The campground here is absolutely idyllic, beautiful and everything you can ask for, however there is one thing that stands out from everything else and that is Scott himself. I would seriously come back just to visit him. His generosity and patience with the follies of a city dweller, such as myself, was exceptional and I feel truly indebted to his outstanding hospitality.
