Nella Chestnut Farm
Camping under the chestnut trees
It was a quiet and beautiful place to park for the night, and you can't beat the price. Bernardo does not live on the farm, so there might not be anyone to welcome you or show you around. It is really nice to have a shower available, although be warned that the water and bathroom heater are not hot enough to keep you warm when the weather is in the 40s. I bet in the summer it would be very nice. I also enjoyed the indoor den with couches and free floor space to do yoga. Also be warned that in late April there were ticks in the long grass. I was pulling them off myself and my dog throughout the stay. The neighborhood is incredibly gorgeous if you want to take your dog on a walk!

Awesome farm with loads of spaces for camping. Didn't meet the owner but he has created a bunch of cool and quirky spaces of the land that were interesting to check out. Bathrooms were clean-ish, outdoor kitchen space was great.

Very whimsical and lovely. Definitely would stay again. One thing to note about the season, currently the orchard across the stream utilizes wind power to help stave off frost when the temps dip low at night. They sound like helicopters landing. I don’t think they use them once the temps are warmer. Just something to keep in mind. After our initial confusion, we were able to sleep through the chopper-attack 😆

Needs minor tweaks but lovely stay.
Beautiful setting, peaceful days, not too far from town, Beautiful drive, great views of the mountain from the road, saw at least 15 bird species plus lots of little wildlife. For the price it was good.
Would be nice to have defined camping spots so you know where to park. And would be nice to have fire pits or at least rings. Wifi was spotty but a outdoor range extender would solve that problem.
Biggest issue is on the farm across the creek a machine that sounds like a helicopter starts up at night and doesn't stop till morning. In a car or camper its not so bad, but if you're pitching a tent, it would be so loud. It wouldn't have been such a bother if I had known ahead of time. I parked near the bathroom so it wasn't as bad.
But Bernardo is lovely and I mostly enjoyed my time. I would stay here again if I was in the area. I say that because I want others to stay here too, just want you to be informed.

Awesome stay on a beautiful farm!
My wife and I loved our stay at Nella! It's Summer h a perfect place and close to Hood River/MT Hood. The property is beautiful. When you first enter the property you are allowed to park and setup camp anywhere you see fit. I would definitely recommend grabbing a spot by the river, but if the river is full another great spot is by the pond. We brought our pup along and he loved being able to run around freely.
This property has many cool amenities! A hangout room that includes bathroom with shower, a secondary bathroom, a bar or indoor area that offers seating, and mini ramp for skating.
The host Bernardo was very kind. The first night he setup a fire for everyone and even took the time to show me how to ride the mini ramp. We will for sure stop by again if camping in the area!
