10/10 would recommend !!!
My favorite camping experience so far! Rob was around and helped us when we got there. He made us feel comfortable and brought the wood to our campsite. Campsite #1 is the most secluded I think, that’s where we stayed.. The property is beautiful and the tent sites are right on the stream (which is so nice to listen to when sleeping). The property is next to a main road, but there are barely any cars that go by. Perfect for anyone who wants to get away from people.

Max Patch Adventure
We had such a great time at Philip's camp site. It was super easy to find. The host created us shortly after we arrived and was very kind. The previous campers had left us a bunch of extra firewood they never used so that was a huge plus. Our campsite sat right on the creek and it was exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay before hitting Max Patch for Sunset and Sunrise. 10 out 10 recommend

The best.10 stars
Absolutely incredible...better than described. Rob and Buddy were the BEST HOSTS EVER. tent was prepped and warmed up...firewood readily available. The facilities...outdoor shower with hot water...cleaning area...hot pad and coffee pots if you need. Barefoot meadow land and the most awesome camp site next to a robust creek of incredible beauty.

Awesome Campsite!
Really awesome campsite! Quiet and peaceful with the running river behind it. Plenty of space for a tent or two and a lot of perks like the outdoor shower and bathroom, among other things. It’s nestled in the mountains so plenty of nature to soak up. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive, and we were able to buy wood at the location for a couple of nice campfires. Will be staying here again and highly recommend!

Feeling lucky to have stayed here!
Philip’s property is gorgeous! I literally only have positive things to say. The campsites all looked amazing, but we absolutely loved being at Site #1 because it was private and had so much access to the creek. It is the farthest from the restroom/shower/mini kitchen area that is shared with the other campers. We happily traded the convenience of being closer to the amenities for the privacy of site #1. Site 3 looked pretty private as well and is literally right next to the amenities. Genuinely every site looked like really beautiful places to stay, all having creek access and a view of the mountains. Here are some tips now that I’ve seen the place:
Philip’s property is quite a bit cooler than Hot Springs, NC on your weather app so bring an extra sweatshirt or blanket. If you’re driving to Max Patch or anywhere on the AT, ensure that you have 4 wheel drive! There is absolutely no cell service and the wifi can be spotty (especially further down at Site 1) so screenshot your routes beforehand. There is a power strip, kettle, and hot plate located near the shower so bring your coffee and your box mac and cheese!
The entire time I stayed at this site I kept thinking about how I want to come back when it’s blazing hot just to lounge in the creek. 10/10 highly recommend booking with Philip!

A gem!
Philip’s place is an absolute gem. Will for sure be back. Rob was amazing, he checked on us both nights and his pup Buddy was a sweetie. This place is great, the amenities alone were clutch ( trash can, fire pit, chairs, picnics table, porta potty, outdoor shower, sink for dishes, mini fridge, hot plate, adorable chickens, beautiful creek). It’s rare to find those types of amenities while camping on the land for such a reasonable price while also looking at beautiful views. Will be back as soon as possible. Thanks so much Philip!!!!
